Last March 30, 2022 - We conducted our Literacy Training Service program at Purok 12, Lumbayao Valencia City Bukidnon. Literacy and numeracy are basic human needs and rights to know. Life without literacy and numeracy is like life without hope, security, and freedom. Numeracy and literacy are the basic foundation of all skills and pre-requisite knowledge for economic development.
During our LTS program we taught them two basic operations in Mathematics which are addition and subtraction. No matter how small we think it may be, but it could make a big difference and impact to young children.
Before and during LTS, we the future educators learned so many things in this teaching experienced, like to prepare all the things we need, to be patient, to be a good listener, to have sympathy for others, to understand their weaknesses and to appreciate their abilities. We also experienced a real time teaching to young children.
In teaching young children during our LTS, it helps us to develop our skills and potentials in teaching young children. It help us enhance our skills in leadership, it also help us to develop our personality as future educators.
LTS program taught us to possess virtues like integrity, dedication and fairness. LTS taught us to always bear in our mind the value of positive reinforcement, and to always establish a good relationship with the children. Most of all we learned how to socialize with other people, to expose ourselves to the community and to value education even more. We are forever grateful to the things we learned and we have experienced in this program Literacy Training Service. ❤️
