He is a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) and a Certified Research Specialist (CRS). He is also a certified provider of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). With over two decades of teaching experience, Unciano is an active and recognized educator and consultant in the Philippines. He has served as a college and graduate faculty member / professor at numerous universities, including Pangasinan State University, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Philippine Christian University - Center for International Studies (CIE), the University of Baguio, PHINMA-University of Pangasinan, Lyceum-Northwestern University, Mary Help of Christians College Seminary, and the Universidad de Dagupan. He also served as an adjunct lecturer at TESOL Asia. In his years of employment in the government service at Pangasinan State University, Unciano also served as University Director for the Offices of Training, Institutional Planning, Quality Assurance, Public Relations and Publication, and the PSU Center for English Language. He also served as Coordinator for Gender and Development (GAD). In his work station at PSU Urdaneta satellite campus, he was the Adviser of the Student Publication (Technoscope) and the Editor-In-Chief of the PSU Urdaneta Research Journal. He also became the Editor-In-Chief of the Official Publication of the Urduja Gender Resource Center (Region 1) hosted by Pangasinan State University. Since 2017, he has run his own independent service industry, "The Ghietuary Research Consultancy in Social Sciences." The consultancy provides services to researchers and academic scholars. In 2024, Unciano was named "Most Outstanding Educator and Research Specialist" for his meritorious achievements in establishing his research consultancy. He is also invited to speak at research symposiums, discussing topics such as language education and graduate programs. Unciano's research applies linguistic analysis to various aspects of communication and social behavior. He uses corpus linguistic analysis to study online verbal aggression (OVA) and the use of invectives on social media. His work examines how Filipinos use language to express aggression toward political corruption. He has developed descriptive language models and provided recommendations for language education and curriculum development based on his research findings. In one study, he analyzed the auditory word recognition (AWR) skills of high school students in an English language course, comparing their performance with isolated versus continuous speech. Beyond language, his research interests also include social and ethical topics. One philosophical study analyzed the ethical framework of the Catholic gender pastoral model.

The Ghietuary Research Consultancy in Social Sciences (GRCSS) is an independent service industry, generally aimed to provide a spectrum of services in the fields of research development and instruction. The independent service provider is Dr. Galahad Randall S. Unciano. The GRCSS traces its origin in July 2017, shortly following an unexpected episode in the university teaching career of Dr. Unciano, which at that time has spanned exactly 20 years since he started to teach in 1997. Prior to the establishment of the GRCSS, he was a tenured faculty for ten years at Pangasinan State University (PSU). Dr. Unciano left PSU in May of 2017. In the third quarter of 2017, Dr. Unciano was connected to two institutions namely, PHINMA-University of Pangasinan (Dagupan City) and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus (Agoo, La Union). In both universities, he was accommodated as a visiting graduate school professor handling courses in the Ph.D., Ed.D., and Master in Education (M.Ed.) programs. It was during this period that he was enjoined by a former fellow in PSU to assist her in the development of her doctoral dissertation research. Dr Unciano agreed to offer services which resulted to the smooth and expedited completion of the dissertation project. She was the first research client of Dr Unciano. Following the success of that initial transaction, the client enjoined him to focus on the enterprise of providing research services to other graduate students in need of assistance. The first client happens to have a wide network with potential clients. Eventually, Dr. Unciano gave up his part-time teaching loads in 2018 because he can no longer shoulder the adjacent responsibilities of employment and the growing density of demands for his research services at that time. The number of subscribers and research clients has escalated, which required his full-time attention. Her first research client served as his partner in the service operations of the GRCSS for several years as she took up the roles of marketing the services and neatly organizing the timetable and flow of the services to ensure that all clients are served efficiently. From transaction issues and challenges encountered with the initial research clients, the GRCSS adopted its formal service guidelines and policies in 2018. This facilitated the order in the conduct of the services and resolved ambiguities in the scope of the services. It also standardized the cost of the services imposed on all the subsequent clients. In aid of widening the market of its services, Dr Unciano eventually conceived to formalize his industry as a registered business, for which reason it was thought to be registered with the DTI bearing the name of “The Ghietuary”. However, this plan was not eventually pursued and actualized. Across the years of its operation since 2017, the GRCSS maintained its status as an independent service industry as a research assistance provider under the principle of sole proprietorship without having to register it formally as a business institution. There was no need for it if only for the purpose of marketing since the GRCSS has always maintained integrity in all its transactions and thereby enjoyed considerable patronage from subscribers and research clients who are not only based in Urdaneta City but across different cities and towns within and outside the province of Pangasinan. Across the years, the GRCSS has been able to efficiently deliver its expected service outputs. At an average, the GRCSS is able to accommodate a frequency rate of one to three individualized service transactions per month. The GRCSS follows a strict confidentiality clause with all its clients, precluding any form of publication of their personal identities and affiliations. Across the years of its operation, the GRCSS has maintained its headquarter which is termed as a “research laboratory and consultation hub”. This was formalized out of the necessity to declare to clients a specific address where activities of the industry are held. Not all consultation activities and meetings with clients are held in its headquarters as most of the meetings were held in public venues as preferred by the clients. Some transactions were also carried out online with clients who are based in far locales and who cannot personally come to visit the research laboratory or able to meet face-to-face. Through the years, the research laboratory of the GRCSS has moved to different settings, although they are all located within the jurisdiction of Urdaneta City. From July 2017 to October 2019, the GRCSS held its research laboratory in Brgy Anonas, Urdaneta City. From October 2019 to September 2023, it was located in Gracia Village, Brgy. Nancayasan, Urdaneta City. And finally from October 2023 to the present, it returned to its original setting in Brgy. Anonas, Urdaneta City. In 2024, Dr. Unciano joined the first nationwide certification exam that would formally qualify and bestow to successful passers of the exam the title of “certified research specialist” (CRS). The Visionary Research Training center was formally deputized under its registration with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to award the title of CRS to qualified professional research practitioners. Dr Unciano was among the first batch of takers in the nationwide CRS qualifying exam which was participated by registraints from different educational and academic institutions loacted in various parts of the country. Dr Unciano registered to take the exam under the banner of the GRCSS as his official institutional affiliation. The GRCSS was the only participating institution in that batch which represented an independent service industry. Dr. Unciano passed the CRS qualifying exam with flying colors, thereby rendering an official recognition of his professional services as a research specialist and his practice as a research consultancy provider. Across his years of practice as a research consultant, Dr. Unciano never totally abandoned his affiliation with academic circles as he would intermittently accommodate part-time teaching loads with private universities and HEIs from 2017 to the present. However, in his membership registrations and affiliations with professional organizations, he usually registers his representation as an independent service provider associated to the GRCS. This was also in aid of widening the market of his services with potential clients who are linked to other professional organizations. In October of 2024, Dr Unciano participated in an international research conference under the banner of the GRCSS as his official representation and institutional affiliation. In that conference, he bagged major awards relative to his research paper entry and the conference presentation of that research. This was a moment of joy for Dr Unciano as the GRCSS competed against other institutional representations of other delegates who joined under the banner of esteemed universities found locally in the Philippines and abroad. Dr Unciano’s achievements in that conference proved that the GRCSS can also align itself adjacent other institutions that are established universities and academic agencies. It was also in 2024 that Dr Unciano was conveyed the prestigious award for Most Outstanding Educator and Research Specialist. Among the award eligibility points that qualified his meritorious achievements to be deserving of this award, Dr Unciano was recognized for his noble initiative to establish an independent service industry which is “The Ghietuary Research Consultancy in Social Sciences” with its spectrum of varied services that complemented the needs of researchers and academic scholars. This award was conveyed during the 2024 awarding ceremony for the 5th Global Achievers Awards held in Baguio City, Philippines on October 19, 2024. the ceremony was attended by other awardees from the Philippines and from other countries. In that occasion, Dr Unciano was the only Filipino awardee from Pangasinan and the only awardee for his specific award category as a research specialist who operates an independent service industry. Following that award, Dr Unciano paid the courtesy call with the Hon. Mayor of the City of Urdaneta who conveyed to him a cash incentive and a letter of commendation in recognition of his passion and industry as a local citizen of the City who provides expert academic assistance in the field of research.
