【JENESYS2018/Philippines】Seventeen young professionals from the Philippines visited Japan from Feb.5 to Feb.12 to participate in the JENESYS2018 exchange program on the theme of “Japanese History and Japanese Culture.” After receiving a keynote lecture about Japanese culture and history, in Tokyo, they visited the monuments of Dr. Jose Rizal, national hero of the Philippines, a Filipino nationalist and Elpidio Rivera Quirino, former president of the Philippines and appreciated their efforts to build a foundation for the long lasting friendship between the Philippines and Japan. After that, they moved to Osaka to have a courtesy call to a sister city of Manilla, Takatsuki-city. They deepened their understanding toward Japanese History and Culture by attending various programs such as Zen meditation, Fushimi-inari shrine visit and home stay in Kyoto.

「JENESYS2018」招へい事業の一環として、フィリピンの社会人17名が2/5～2/12まで訪日し、「歴史・文化交流」をテーマとするプログラムに参加しました。一行は東京で日本文化・歴史に関する講義を受講後、ホセ・リサール博士記念碑，キリノ元大統領顕彰碑を訪れ、長年にわたる両国の友好関係の礎となった二人の功績に思いを寄せました。訪日団はその後、マニラ市と姉妹都市調印している大阪府高槻市を表敬訪問しました。京都府では座禅体験、伏見稲荷視察、ホームステイなどを通じ、日本の歴史と文化への理解を深めました。
