𝐒𝐬𝐬𝐬𝐬𝐬𝐬𝐬𝐬𝐬... 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡. 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲. 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭

These three words defined the 𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐒 𝐕𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬' fight throughout the university’s Sports Fest held across April and May 2026, as student-athletes delivered commendable performances and secured victories in multiple sporting events.

𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐒 𝐕𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 left their mark on the following events:

𝐀𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐬: Welkin Visser Canutab - Gold Medal (Welterweight Category ) and Renz Arcalas - Bronze Medal (Lightweight Category)

𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬: Shaina Magno - Silver Medal (Female Category)
𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐬: Abegail Carpio and Queen Aubrey Obina - Gold Medal (Female Doubles Category)

Beyond the medals and titles, recognition is also given to all participants who courageously stepped into the arena and proudly represented the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 throughout the Sports Fest season. Victory is not measured solely by podium finishes for showing up and giving your best is already a triumph in itself.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the faculty members, committees, and supporters whose continuous guidance and encouragement allowed CHUMS Vipers to hiss their way to the top.

𝑴𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑱𝒐𝒃 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 𝑺𝒊𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝑷𝒔𝒚𝒄𝒉 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆

Third-year Psychology students participated in a two-day 𝑴𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑱𝒐𝒃 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 𝑺𝒊𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 held on 𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝟒–𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, as part of their requirements for their 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍/ 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒔𝒚𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 subject. The activity aimed to expose students to the realities of corporate recruitment through a series of rigorous interview phases and professional assessments.

The first day centered on the 𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆, where students underwent preliminary evaluations measuring communication skills, qualifications, and professional presentation. Participants were required to obtain at least an 𝟖𝟓% passing mark to qualify for the next stage. Successful applicants received confirmation messages regarding their advancement.

Qualified students later proceeded to the 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 𝑷𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆, where they faced consecutive one-on-one interviews with evaluators, including invited Human Resources professionals.

On the second day, the simulation shifted toward group interaction through the 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 𝑷𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆. Applicants were grouped into batches of 10 and interviewed by a panel of three evaluators within a maximum of 30 minutes per session. Students were assessed based on psychological insight, articulation, confidence, and professionalism while interacting with fellow candidates.

The event concluded with an awarding ceremony recognizing students who demonstrated excellence in various competencies throughout the simulation.

May we become softer toward one another. May we listen without rushing to judge, care without needing explanations, and remind people that healing does not have to happen alone.

Their years spent studying cognitive growth and human development have given them a profound advantage, allowing them to enter the classroom armed with the empathy needed to truly uplift every student they meet.

𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐎𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐳𝐚, PsychSoc's 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, was recognized as 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, for his presentation of possible solutions aligned with empowerment, mental health, and collaboration. Ending his presentation, he stated, "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑷𝑨𝑺𝑺 𝒊𝒔 𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑷𝑨𝑺𝑺𝒊𝒐𝒏."

𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧 is an emerging youth organization in Pangasinan in partnership with 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬 that promotes youth empowerment, mental health awareness, gender equality, and the development of safe and inclusive spaces.

Furthermore, this participation underscores PsychSoc's commitment to fostering socially responsive and advocacy-driven future professionals equipped with the compass that will lead them to where they are meant to be.

Psychology faculty members of Urdaneta City University served as examiners and proctors, alongside the UCU Psychological Assessment and counceling Center (PACC), as the institution officially administered the UCU College Admission Test (UCU-CAT) for incoming freshmen and transferees for the first semester of Academic Year 2026–2027 on April 22, 2026, at the Resorts World Building.

The UCU-CAT remains the university’s primary screening process, assessing applicants’ readiness for higher education as they take their first step toward their academic journey at UCU.
