AND THAT'S A WRAP! 🎉🎓
COMPOSTELA, Davao de Oro – The Alternative Learning System (ALS) of Compostela East and Compostela West Districts successfully conducted the 2nd Municipal ALS Graduation Rites and Completion Ceremony for School Year 2025–2026 on July 10, 2026, at the Barangay Poblacion Gymnasium, Compostela, Davao de Oro, with the theme, “Filipino Graduates: Prepare to Lead with Competence and Character.”
The ceremony honored the achievements of ALS graduates and completers who demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and determination in pursuing education despite life's challenges. It also celebrated the transformative power of the Alternative Learning System in providing accessible, inclusive, and quality education for out-of-school youth and adult learners.
The event was graced by Dr. Renato N. Pacpakin, Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics, who represented the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Phoebe Gay L. Refamonte. Also present were Dr. Maroja R. Belisario, Public Schools District Supervisor of Compostela East, and Dr. Maria Bella R. Alvarez, District Coordinating Principal of Compostela West, whose continued guidance and support have greatly contributed to the successful implementation of ALS programs in the municipality.
The ALS community likewise expressed its sincere appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Compostela, led by Hon. Levi Ebdao together with the honorable members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Officials, and Sangguniang Kabataan officers from the different barangays, for their unwavering support and commitment to advancing education and empowering ALS learners.
Special recognition is likewise extended to the Barangay Captain of Poblacion, Compostela, Davao de Oro, Hon. Tristan Ang, for generously providing the venue for this memorable celebration. The ALS community also conveys its heartfelt gratitude to the Vice Mayor of Compostela, Hon. Ricky Hechanova, and Municipal Councilor Hon. Attorney Jo Romano, for generously lending the chairs used during the ceremony. Their invaluable support greatly contributed to the successful and meaningful conduct of the event.
The successful conduct of the graduation rites was made possible through the collective efforts of the dedicated ALS teachers and implementers of Compostela East and Compostela West Districts under the leadership of District ALS Coordinators Ma'am Maria Filipinas M. Palmero and Sir Marcelo P. Babor. Their passion, teamwork, and commitment ensured that the occasion became a meaningful celebration of learning, perseverance, and achievement.
The ALS community also extends its heartfelt gratitude to the parents, families, partners, and stakeholders whose continuous encouragement and support have inspired learners to overcome challenges and pursue their educational goals.
As this year's graduates and completers embark on a new chapter of their lives, they carry with them not only the knowledge and skills they have gained but also the values of resilience, competence, and character. Guided by this year's theme, they are encouraged to become responsible leaders, lifelong learners, and active contributors to their communities.
