On August 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM, a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) Session with the theme “Seeds of Success: Cultivating Literacy and Numeracy with ARAL Program” was conducted at Caigdal National High School (CNHS). The session was attended by 16 participants, composed of the school head and teaching personnel.
The activity aimed to strengthen the school’s implementation of the ARAL Program (Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning) by providing teachers with an opportunity to examine learners’ assessment results, identify specific learning gaps, review the implementation of the program, and plan appropriate interventions to address learners’ literacy and numeracy needs. The session emphasized the importance of using assessment results as a basis for providing targeted and responsive support, particularly for learners who need additional assistance in developing foundational skills.
The program formally commenced with an opening prayer presented through an Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP), followed by the Nationalistic Song, which was likewise presented through AVP. The flow of the program was facilitated by Ma’am Marinella Vi G. Pabalay, Master of Ceremonies.
The Opening Remarks were delivered by Dr. Peter Andrew G. Regencia, Principal III, who welcomed the participants and underscored the importance of collective efforts in addressing learners’ learning gaps. His message highlighted the role of teachers in ensuring that learners receive appropriate interventions and support based on their identified needs.
The session proceeded with the Reiteration of the ARAL Program, facilitated by Ma’am Maidy F. Redublo, Teacher I and ARAL Focal Person. The discussion revisited the program’s purpose, legal basis, objectives, and implementation framework.
The ARAL Program was presented as Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning, with its legal basis anchored on Republic Act No. 12028 and DepEd Order No. 18, s. 2025. It was emphasized that the primary objectives of the program are to address learning loss and bridge gaps in basic education, particularly among learners who require additional academic support.
The presentation of the ARAL Program Primer, Implementing Guidelines, and Learning Resources further strengthened the participants’ understanding of the program’s implementation processes and the resources that may be utilized in providing appropriate interventions to learners.
The PHIL-IRI/BOSY Assessment Results in English were then presented by Ma’am Yoradyl C. Lorica, Teacher I and Reading Coordinator in English, followed by the presentation of the PHIL-IRI/BOSY Assessment Results in Filipino by Ma’am Alona M. Armando, Teacher II and Reading Coordinator in Filipino. The RMA BOSY Assessment Results in Filipino were subsequently presented by Sir Josua L. Velasco, Teacher I and Mathematics Coordinator. The assessment results provided valuable information regarding learners’ current performance and helped identify areas requiring further support. Through these results, teachers were able to determine appropriate interventions based on learners’ identified needs.
The session also presented the school’s planned implementation of ARAL Reading and ARAL Math, which will begin on September 16, 2026, during Term 2.

- ARAL Reading Plus – Sir John Bryan O. Papina and Ma’am Via Therese M. Octoso
- ARAL Math 7 – Ma’am Joy D. Alvatez
- ARAL Math 8 & 10 – Ma’am Joan Aiko B. Romasanta
- ARAL Math 9 – Sir Josua L. Velasco
- ARAL Math SHS – Ma’am Maidy F. Redublo
The program continued with the Distribution of Certificates, facilitated by the Master of Ceremonies, in recognition of the participation and contributions of the concerned personnel.
The activity concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Ma’am Saira Lyn J. Obrador, Teacher II and Senior High School Coordinator. Her message highlighted the shared responsibility of the school personnel in ensuring that learners are given meaningful opportunities to overcome learning gaps. The session served as a reminder that every assessment result represents a learner who needs to be understood, supported, and provided with appropriate opportunities to improve.
Overall, the SLAC Session provided a meaningful venue for the participants to reflect on learners’ assessment results, strengthen their understanding of the ARAL Program, review its legal basis and objectives, identify appropriate learning interventions, and prepare for the implementation of ARAL Reading and ARAL Math for Term 2 of S.Y. 2026–2027. Through continued collaboration, regular monitoring, and data-informed decision-making, CNHS aims to provide responsive academic support to learners and help them overcome learning gaps.
The session ended with a renewed commitment to uphold the guiding principle of the ARAL Program: “SA ARAL PROGRAM, WALANG MAIIWAN, LAHAT MATUTUTO.”
Through this commitment, the school continues to cultivate the seeds of success by providing every learner with the support, intervention, and opportunities needed to grow, learn, and succeed.
