Biabas Trade HS Conducts 3-Day Practical Research 1 Oral Defense; Grade 12 Researchers Face Scrutiny

UBAY, BOHOL — Showcasing academic rigor and critical inquiry, Grade 12 Senior High School researchers of Biabas Trade High School successfully presented their qualitative studies during the school’s Final Oral Defense in Practical Research 1, held from August 24 to 26, 2026. Spearheaded by Research Teacher Zaldy H. Bacus, the three-day academic exercise served as the culminating venue for student-researchers across various tracks to articulate their empirical findings on community issues, lived student experiences, and local trade challenges before a distinguished evaluative panel.

The defense sessions were systematically scrutinized by Panel Chairman Anna-Louise Precila R. Parojenog, MAT-MATH, alongside expert panel members Janice D. Dupalco, MAED-AS, and Ron Michael L. Reloba, MAED-AS. Throughout the interpellation, the panel rigorously evaluated each research group’s thematic analyses, phenomenological rigor, ethical protocols, and manuscript cohesion, challenging the presenters to substantiate their qualitative conclusions. The panel and administration commended the researchers for their critical thinking, collaborative defense, and academic poise, underscoring the activity's vital role in honing reflective problem solvers and grounded community researchers.

BTHS Opisyal na Binuksan ang Buwan ng Wika 2026

Opisyal na sinimulan ng Biabas Trade High School (BTHS) ang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026 ngayong Agosto 3, 2026 na may temang “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon.”

Nagtampok ang programa ng mga mag-aaral at g**o na nagsuot ng magagandang kasuotang Pilipino tulad ng barong at Filipiniana na lalong nagpasigla sa diwa ng pagdiriwang. Sa pagliban ng Punong-g**o, si G. Greg Ocdenaria ang nagbigkas ng Pambungad na Pananalita para sa kanya. Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin niya ang kahalagahan ng wikang Filipino sa panahon ng teknolohiya.

Nasundan ito ng masayang Trivia na may papremyo tungkol sa Wika kung saan aktibong nakilahok ang mga mag-aaral mula sa iba’t ibang baitang. Isinagawa rin ang paghahanap ng may pinakamagandang kasuotan sa bawat baitang. Ginawaran ng gantimpala ang mga nanalo bilang pagkilala sa kanilang kaalaman, galing, at pagkamalikhain sa kasuotan.

Layunin ng pagdiriwang na itaguyod ang pagmamahal at paggamit ng wikang Filipino bilang tulay sa kaalaman at kultura.

Spike to Excellence:The BTHS Intramurals Men's Volleyball Tournament

With every serve and spike of the ball, the Barangay Biabas Gymnasium was filled with cheers as the different teams from BTHS Intramurals compete at the Men's Volleyball Tournament. With Sir Kevin Boiser as the tournament manager, the competition was a success.

On the first day of the tournament, Green Elite Spartans and Blue Storm Breakers succeeded to enter the next round while Golden Eagles and Red Fire Blazers proceeded to fight for the third place. On the final day, Green Elite Spartans secured the 1st place, with Blue Storm Breakers as the second placer, and Golden Eagles as the third placer.

The Tournament Officials then announced the players who will be participating on the district level of the competition following the awarding of all the winners.

Strategic Minds Shine in BTHS Chess Tournament

Exceptional skill, patience, and determination took center stage as student chess players showcased their talents during the Biabas Trade High School Chess Tournament held on July 25, 2026.

The competition gathered participants from different teams who demonstrated remarkable focus and sportsmanship in every match.

In the Boys Division, Jirey H. Asas of the Yellow Team earned the championship title after an impressive performance, while John Ery D. Flor, also from the Yellow Team, secured second place, and Jerson D. Forones of the Green Team placed third.

In the Girls Division, Gabrielee P. Alacida of the Green Team emerged as Champion, followed by Xyrell Mea Abcede of the Green Team in second place and Mary Rose L. Penaso of the Red Team in third place.

The tournament not only highlighted the students' strategic thinking and analytical skills but also fostered camaraderie, discipline, and respect among competitors.

The school community commends all participants for their commendable efforts and extends its sincere congratulations to this year's winners.

The successful conduct of the event was led by Tournament Manager Donabelle R. Soberano, with the support of Tournament Committee Members Anna Louise Precila Parojenog and Arlene Ocdenaria, whose dedication contributed to the tournament's success.

Reyes, Penecios Bag Mr. & Ms. Intramurals 2026 Title ✨👏

To promote sportsmanship and strengthen school spirit, Louie Reyes of the Blue Storm Breakers and Stephany Miles Penecios of the Golden Eagles were crowned Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2026 during the Intramurals Coronation Night held at the Biabas Trade High School (BTHS) Covered Court.

Under the theme "One Biabas, One Spirit: Built Together, Stronger Forever", both winners stood out throughout the competition by showcasing confidence, poise, and stage presence, earning the highest recognition.

Penecios expressed her gratitude after receiving the crown.
"It was my first time joining a pageant, and I never expected to win. There were only four female candidates, and two names had already been announced. I held back my tears of joy when I heard the other candidates' names instead of mine during the announcement of the first runner-up," Penecios said.

Meanwhile, Reyes also delivered a commendable performance throughout the competition, demonstrating confidence and composure as he earned the Mr. Intramurals 2026 title.

The table tennis competition concluded with thrilling rallies and outstanding performances as student-athletes showcased their determination, skill, and sportsmanship during the school's Intramurals.

The Green Elite Spartans emerged as the Boys' Table Tennis Champions, displaying consistency, precision, and teamwork throughout the tournament. Their impressive performance earned them the championship title after overcoming tough opponents in the final match.

In the Girls' Division, the Yellow Golden Eagles soared to victory, proving their dominance with excellent ball control, quick reflexes, and strategic gameplay. Their hard-earned win secured the championship and highlighted their dedication to the sport.
Players from all participating teams demonstrated resilience and respect on and off the playing area, making the competition both exciting and inspiring. Spectators cheered enthusiastically as each match reflected the true spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.

The table tennis event concluded with the recognition of the champions, celebrating the achievements of the Green Elite Spartans in the boys' division and the Yellow Golden Eagles in the girls' division. Their victories will be remembered as one of the highlights of this year's intramural sports festival, inspiring fellow students to continue striving for excellence in athletics.
