MOJO IN ACTION: BNHS CELEBRATES 67TH ARAW NG BRGY. BALAGUNAN

Learning beyond the classroom!

Balagunan National High School student journalist Mr. Jayford Broa put his Mobile Journalism skills into practice as he was taksed to conduct a simulation coverage of the school’s participation in the 67th Araw ng Barangay Balagunan.

Through actual field practice, our young mobile journalist Mr. Broa experience how to gather information, capture meaningful moments, conduct interviews, and produce stories using mobile technology.

More than a simulation, this is an opportunity to develop the journalistic skills and responsible journalism while celebrating our connection with the community.

P.S. Classes resumed after the parade. The regular lessons continued as scheduled.

Welcome to the Balagunan National High School family, Sir John Rey Parawan!

We are delighted to welcome our newly hired
Junior High School Teacher I, who officially joins the BNHS community. Sir John Rey will be taking over the classes previously handled by Sir Nesse Jun Saromines, who has recently been transferred to another school.

In addition, Sir John Rey will serve as the new Class Adviser of Grade 7 Emerald, where he will guide and inspire our learners throughout the school year.

As you begin this new journey, may you find fulfillment in teaching, build meaningful connections with your students and colleagues, and continue making a positive impact in the lives of every learner.

EDITORIAL CARTOONING | OIL PRICE HIKE

The rising cost of oil is more than just another number displayed at gasoline stations, it is a burden that reaches every Filipino household.

Each increase in fuel prices creates a ripple effect, raising transportation fares, food prices, electricity costs, and the prices of basic goods. For ordinary citizens already struggling with limited incomes, every oil price hike means sacrificing another essential need.

The editorial cartoon vividly portrays this reality. The vehicle, overwhelmed while carrying a giant upward arrow labeled Oil Price Hike,symbolizes how both motorists and commuters are forced to shoulder an ever-growing financial burden.

The anxious expression of the vehicle reflects the uncertainty and frustration experienced by millions of Filipinos whenever fuel prices surge.

While global events, supply disruptions, and market fluctuations often influence oil prices, the effects are felt most by those who have the least capacity to absorb them.

Workers spend more on transportation, farmers face higher production costs, businesses increase the prices of their products, and consumers ultimately pay the price. In the end, inflation leaves families struggling to make every peso count.

This issue calls for more than temporary solutions. Government agencies must continue strengthening programs that cushion the impact of fuel price increases, such as targeted subsidies for public transportation, support for local industries, and investments in renewable and sustainable energy sources. At the same time, citizens must embrace responsible fuel consumption and support initiatives that reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

An editorial cartoon does not merely illustrate a problem, it sparks awareness and encourages discussion. Through a single image, it reminds us that behind every increase in oil prices are real people making difficult choices every day. As fuel costs continue to climb, the challenge remains clear: finding sustainable solutions that protect both the economy and the welfare of every Filipino.

BNHS RECEIVES DEPED TEACHING LAPELS

Balagunan National High School extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Education for providing teaching lapel microphones to our teachers today, July 22, 2026.

These teaching aids will greatly enhance classroom instruction by allowing teachers to communicate more clearly without having to strain or raise their voices.

With the use of these lapels, lessons can be delivered more effectively, creating a more engaging and comfortable learning environment for both teachers and learners.
