INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE! ๐งก
As we celebrated our Acquaintance Party, our newly registered Social Worker, April Margareth D. Locsin, RSW, delivered a truly inspiring message to all Social Work students, especially to our interns.
She began with a simple yet powerful question, โKamusta ka?โ โ reminding us that genuine care for others can start with simply asking how someone is doing.
She shared that her journey was like a roller coaster, filled with struggles, heartbreaks, and challenges. Maโam April emphasized the importance of building meaningful connections and having a strong support system.
She also recalled how her instructors saw the potential in her and reminded us that each of us has unique strengths that we can use to serve our future clients. Her internship journey taught us that even our presence alone can make a difference in someoneโs life, because Social Work is not just about working inside an office, but about being there for people who need our help and empathy.
To all the interns, she said, โAlam ko ang pinagdadaanan ninyo dahil pinagdaanan ko rin. Mahirap man, pero kinaya ko at alam kong kaya ninyo rin.โ She reminded us that our academic learning becomes more meaningful when we use it to serve others.
At the end of her speech, she encouraged everyone to keep going and to always remember why we chose the Social Work profession. This journey may be difficult, but it will help us grow and prepare us to uplift the lives of others. She added that we all have our own stories, and someday, we will all reach our dream of becoming Registered Social Workers.
