Minapan High School continued its monthly Ecumenical Service, bringing together learners, teachers, parents, religious organizations, and community stakeholders for a gathering that promotes faith, unity, awareness, and cooperation.
Hosted this month by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Pastor Elmar S. Caliopas as our guest speaker. His inspiring message reminded us of the importance of strengthening our faith, living according to our values - emphasizing that we should not be weary in doing what is good, and fostering unity despite our differences in our beliefs.
Beyond the celebration of faith, the activity provided an opportunity to strengthen our school-community partnership and discuss issues and development relevant to the learners and the community.
Among the topics discussed was the proposed establishment of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM)-Tulunan Campus. Hon. Maureen L. Villamor-Peรฑafiel, Hon. Robert Pio B. Peรฑafiel, and Former Principal I Edith C. Gallegos shared information regarding the proposed establishment, giving members of the school community an opportunity to become informed about the development.
Moreover, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), headed by Police Major Rolando L. Dillera, Jr. , conducted an awareness session on safety and security concerns relevant to the school community. Their valuable reminders emphasized the importance of vigilance, responsibility, cooperation, and awareness about potential threats that may affect the safety and well-being of our learners and the members of the school community.
The monthly activity also coincided with Card Day, allowing parents and teachers to discuss learnersโ academic progress, development, and well-being. The participation of parents from different churches further strengthened the partnership between families and the school.
The convergence of these activities reflected the broader purpose of the monthly Ecumenical Service: to provide a regular venue where members of the school community can come together not only in faith but also in addressing concerns that affect learners and the community.
School Head Rolly O. Jasangas, Jr., Principal IV, continues to support initiatives that strengthen collaboration among the school, families, religious organizations, government agencies, and other community stakeholders.
Through its monthly Ecumenical Service, Minapan High School continues to foster an environment where faith, respect, awareness, safety, and shared responsibility contribute to the development of a stronger and more supportive school community.
Through its monthly Ecumenical Service, Minapan High School continues to provide a regular space where members of the community can come togetherโnot only in faith, but also in learning about community developments, promoting safety, and supporting the holistic development of learners.
The initiative demonstrates how a school activity centered on faith can extend beyond worship and become a continuing avenue for community engagement, information-sharing, and shared responsibility for learners' welfare.
