Independence was never handed freely; it was won through courage and sacrifice of our heroes and ancestors who fought and stood firm against oppression. On June 12, 1898, General Emilio Aguinaldo raised the Philippine flag in Kawit, Cavite, declaring independence after centuries of Spanish rule.

‎Today, independence is more than a commemoration. It is a responsibility to honor what was won. Yet, as students and citizens, we see how corruption and incompetency in our institutions weaken the very foundation of our democracy. When leaders fail to serve with integrity, the spirit of independence is betrayed.
‎
‎We must not allow the sacrifices of our heroes to be wasted. Independence calls us to vigilance, to stand against injustice, and to demand accountability. As young Filipinos, we carry the hope that freedom will continue to empower our generation and the next. The struggle for liberty lives on, and it depends on us to protect it.

dala ninyo ang mga aral, karanasan, at adhikaing hinubog ng inyong panahon bilang mga lingkod-mag-aaral. Sa bawat gawaing inyong pinangunahan at tungkuling inyong ginampanan, naging huwaran kayo ng malasakit, paninindigan, at tapat na paglilingkod.
