Research begins with questions rather than conclusions. A researcher does not simply accept an assumption because it sounds convincing. Instead, the assumption is examined, evidence is gathered, different possibilities are considered, and conclusions are drawn only from what the evidence can support.

The same principle applies beyond research. We should learn to distinguish between what we know, what we believe, and what we have yet to discover.

Whether in research or in life, truth is not something we assume, it is something we seek, examine, and allow the evidence to reveal.

In a world where stories travel faster than facts, research reminds us to pause before we accept, repeat, or conclude. What we hear may be information, but information still needs to be examined. We need to ask where it came from, what evidence supports it, what may be missing, and what remains uncertain.

Research is not about proving what we already believe. It is about being honest enough to question it.

Sometimes, the most responsible conclusion is not โ€œ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฑ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ,โ€ but simply, โ€œ๐˜ž๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜จ๐˜ฉ ๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜บ.โ€

Between what we hear and what is true, there is a space called inquiry.

And it begins with one question:

๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฌ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ?

In support of Malacaรฑang Memorandum Circular No. 136, Series of 2026, all classes and office work at the University of Saint Louis-Tuguegarao shall be suspended beginning at 12:00 noon tomorrow, September 28, 2026, in observance of the 34th National Family Week and โ€œKainang Pamilya Mahalagaโ€ Day.

All employees and learners/students are enjoined to dedicate this time to being with their families through shared meals, meaningful conversations, and activities that nurture love, respect, and unity in the home.

This observance reminds us that beyond our academic and professional responsibilities, our families remain a vital source of love, support, and strength. By setting aside time for our loved ones, we nurture meaningful relationships, strengthen family bonds, and promote the holistic well-being of every member of the family.

As a Catholic educational institution committed to the formation of the whole person, USLT recognizes the important role of the family in shaping values, fostering personal growth, and building a caring and supportive community.

This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by promoting family relationships, emotional well-being, and a healthy balance between academic and professional responsibilities and family life.

May this special occasion be an opportunity for every Louisian family to reconnect, share, and celebrate the gift of togetherness.

The Center for Basic Education Research (CBER) congratulates Mr. Jomel Mabborang, CBER Head, for successfully completing two online certification courses from Stanford University and Harvard University, delivered through leading global online learning platforms Coursera and edX.

Mabborang completed Introduction to Statistics, an online certification course from Stanford University through Coursera, and Data Science: Linear Regression, an online certification course from Harvard University through edX.

The courses further developed his knowledge and skills in statistical reasoning, data analysis, and linear regression, strengthening competencies directly relevant to quantitative research, research mentoring, and evidence-informed decision-making.

The completion of these certifications reflects Mabborangโ€™s continuing commitment to professional development, global academic engagement, and lifelong learning. As CBER Head, his pursuit of internationally offered training contributes to the Centerโ€™s broader goal of strengthening research capacity among faculty and students.

Yet, the Lord calls us to a different path which is the path of humility. Humility does not mean denying our gifts or achievements. Rather, it means recognizing that our abilities, opportunities, and successes are not ours alone. They are gifts entrusted to us, and they become more meaningful when we use them to serve others.

When we let go of pride, we become more open to correction, more willing to listen, and more grateful for the people who help us along the way. We stop seeking the spotlight and allow God to be at the center.

May we never allow our achievements to become greater than the One who made them possible. This Sunday, may we choose humility over pride, service over recognition, and Godโ€™s glory over our own.

In moments of deep pain and loss, we may find ourselves asking, โ€œLord, where are You?โ€ We may pray through our tears and struggle to understand what has happened.

Yet even when we cannot feel His presence, we entrust ourselves once more to the loving mercy of God. We bring Him our questions, our grief, and the burdens we cannot carry alone.

May we surround one another with prayer, compassion, and presence. Let us not suffer in silence. Reaching out for help is not a lack of faith; it can be one way God cares for us through others.

If you are struggling, please speak to someone you trust, seek professional support, and do not face the darkness alone.

Lord, be close to every heart that is hurting. Bring comfort where there is pain, hope where there is darkness, and remind us that we are never meant to carry our burdens alone. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿค
