In observance of World Rabies Day, Veterinary Student Achievers' Society took the initiative to spread awareness and promote a rabies-free community across our campus! 💙🐶🐱

To ensure everyone stays informed, our organization distributed informative flyers throughout the different college departments.

These flyers highlight:
✅ Key prevention and control measures against rabies
✅ Safe practices for interacting with pets and stray animals
✅ Immediate, step-by-step actions to take if you or someone you know suffers an animal bite or scratch

In addition to the flyers, we’ve also put up educational posters in various departmental buildings so vital safety tips are always within reach.

Rabies is 100% preventable with awareness, responsible pet ownership, and prompt medical action. Let’s work together to protect both our human and animal communities! 🤝✨

BRGY. STA. CRUZ, GONZAGA, CAGAYAN — Marking a major milestone under its new leadership, the Veterinary Student Achievers’ Society (VSAS) conducts its signature community initiative, “Hearts for Service: Animal Welfare Outreach Activity,” yesterday, September 26, 2026. The event stands as the very first mass spay and neuter program spearheaded by the current administration of 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙇𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙚𝙡 𝙋𝙖𝙪𝙡 𝙇𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙯 and 𝙇𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙅𝙖𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖, backed by strong partnerships with local clinics and volunteer veterinarians.

The outreach delivers vital medical care to community pets and shelter animals, providing free mass spay and neuter procedures, anti-rabies vaccinations, mass deworming, and basic grooming services.

Additionally, the organization commends Sir Richard H. Abujen for taking proactive initiative in securing essential veterinary services for the rescued animals in his shelter, demonstrating outstanding local animal welfare advocacy.

Through collaborative efforts between veterinary students of VSAS, seasoned Mu Etan doctors, and local animal welfare advocates, the VSAS “Hearts for Service” activity reinforced the vital role of preventive care and population control in building healthier, safer communities for both humans and animals.

Paws, purpose, and community! The Veterinary Student Achievers' Society (VSAS) successfully hosted an insightful seminar on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership at Brgy. Aggugadan, Peñablanca, Cagayan, August 22, 2026.

Our organization shared essential knowledge on caring for our furry companions, ensuring they live healthy, happy lives. But the love didn't stop at pet care—VSAS also extended a helping hand to the local community by distributing food and donated clothing to the residents.

A huge thank you to the barangay officials and residents of Brgy. Aggugaddan for the warm welcome and active participation. Together, we are building a kinder, more compassionate community for both people and animals! 🐶🐱✨
