KaMaG-Aral was born out of the 10-day Research in Social Studies Education - Continuing Professional Education (RSSE-CPE) Program held on July 3-12, 2019 in Agoo, La Union, in partnership with the UPB College of Social Sciences and its extension airm, the Social Sciences Research and Extension Institute - SSREI.
Today, we express our heartfelt gratitude to SSREI for being our valued partner for the past three years. We also extend our sincere thanks to Asst. Prof. Donna Mae Ponce-Batnag, MA (Donna Mp-b), Chair of SSREI, for the leadership, support, and trust that have helped sustain this meaningful partnership.

The morning session of Day 3 began with the Graduate Programs Orientation of the University of the Philippines Baguio, College of Social Sciences, featuring the MA History Program, MA Social and Development Studies Program, and PhD Indigenous Studies Program. This was facilitated by Assoc. Prof. Arellano A. Colongon, Jr., MA, Assoc. Prof. Tala Aurora S. Ramos, PhD, and Asst. Prof. Donna Mae Ponce-Batnag, MA.
This was followed by the awarding of certificates of participation, recognition of Best Papers and Best Presenters, and the oathtaking ceremony of the newly elected KaMaG-Aral officers.
Participants and presenters also shared their impressions, followed by a cultural performance from Paggawisan Tako Am-In (PAGTA) of the University of the Philippines Baguio.
The morning concluded with the closing remarks of Prof. Charita Arcangel Delos Reyes, PhD, Chair and Professor of the Department of History and Philosophy, College of Social Sciences, University of the Philippines Baguio.

On May 29, 2026, the 3rd KaMaG-Aral National Conference continued with another full day of scholarly exchange, reflection, and meaningful conversations on citizenship education, historical memory, disinformation, and Social Studies research.
Day 2 began with a recap of the highlights and insights from Day 1, followed by Plenary Talk 4, Stories We Distort: Indigenous Data Sovereignty, Disinformation, and What Citizenship Education in the Philippines Gets Wrong, delivered by Dr. Karminn Daytec-Yangot of the University of the Philippines Baguio. The morning session also featured Plenary Talk 5, Mnemonic Wars: Notes on Historical Memory and Disinformation in the Philippines, delivered by Asst. Prof. Luis Zuriel P. Domingo, MA, also from the University of the Philippines Baguio, followed by an open forum and the awarding of certificates to the plenary speakers.
In the afternoon, participants took part in parallel sessions featuring paper presentations from educators, researchers, and scholars across various areas of Araling Panlipunan and Social Studies education. The day concluded with a synthesis by Asst. Prof. Donna Mae Ponce-Batnag, MA, Chair of the Social Sciences Research and Extension Institute.

The 3rd KaMaG-Aral National Conference officially opened on May 28, 2026, bringing together educators, researchers, scholars, and advocates of Araling Panlipunan and Social Studies education.
Day 1 began with the opening ceremonies, including the singing of the national anthem, invocation, and the first singing of the KaMaG-Aral Hymn led by the Pines City National High School Koro Pino. The day also featured meaningful plenary sessions on citizenship, disinformation, political polarization, and history education, including discussions led by Dr. Ambeth R. Ocampo, Asst. Prof. Karin Shana C. Bangsoy, Atty. Cecilio D. Duka, and Dr. Imelda B. Deinla.
The day concluded with a synthesis by Assoc. Prof. Nestor F. Ulpindo, highlighting the major insights and conversations that shaped the first full day of the conference.
