CSU Students’ Project Among Top 15 ASEAN Initiatives, Receives AUS 2026 SEED Grant

Three students from CSU have earned regional recognition after their project, POLITI-KNOWS, was selected as one of the 15 recipients of the Asian Undergraduate Symposium (AUS) 2026 SEED Grant.

Eduardo S. Caranguian Jr. from the Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Richmond George A. Agustin, and Ma. Chantile Iclain C. Mabazza, from the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science students from CSU Carig Campus, are set to participate in the Post-AUS Workshop on August 5, 2026, following an invitation from the AUS Fellows Society. The workshop, the official follow-up program of the Asian Undergraduate Symposium (AUS) 2026 hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS), will be mentored by Prof. Louis Ng Kok Kwang, Associate Professor at NUS and former Member of Parliament of Singapore.

The recognition follows CSU’s successful participation in the Asian Undergraduate Symposium 2026, where the University sent a delegation of 12 undergraduate students who were selected through a rigorous and competitive screening process by the AUS-NUS organizers. The symposium brought together outstanding student leaders from across ASEAN to develop innovative solutions to regional challenges while fostering cross-cultural collaboration and leadership.

The selection of POLITI-KNOWS as one of only 15 projects to receive the AUS 2026 SEED Grant highlights the quality of CSU’s student-led innovations and reflects the University’s commitment to internationalization, leadership development and nurturing globally competitive graduates capable of creating meaningful impact within the ASEAN community.

38 CSU Students Receive Financial Assistance Through Adopt-a-CSU Student Program

A total of 38 Cagayan State University students received financial assistance on July 31, 2026 under the Adopt-a-CSU Student Program for the Second Semester of AY 2025–2026, a flagship initiative of the University implemented through the partnership of Cagayan State University, the CSU Federated Alumni Association and the CSU Andrews Campus Alumni Association.

Recipients were selected based on their General Weighted Average and financial need through a Selection Committee composed of representatives from the University and its alumni partners.

Financial assistance was distributed as follows:

* White Tier – ₱2,000 (25 students)
* Blue Tier – ₱5,000 (7 students)
* Green Tier – ₱2,500 (5 students)
* Platinum Tier – ₱15,000 (1 student)

The Board-approved program, proposed by Dr. Ana Marie Cristina C. Cauilan, Vice President for Internationalization, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, was officially launched through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on September 3, 2025 by Cagayan State University, the CSU Federated Alumni Association, and the CSU Andrews Campus Alumni Association.

The initiative directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by expanding access to higher education, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by providing assistance to financially disadvantaged but deserving students, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration among the University, alumni, and private donors. It is likewise responsive to the CHED ACHIEVE Agenda, particularly its thrusts on equity and access, student welfare and success, stakeholder engagement and sustainable resource mobilization for quality higher education.

To date, the Adopt-a-CSU Student Program has mobilized approximately ₱361,500 in donations across participating campuses, enabling more students to continue their education despite financial challenges

In recognition of the donors’ invaluable contributions, the University will confer a Special Recognition for Outstanding Donors during a recognition program.

The Call for Donors for the First Semester of AY 2026–2027 will officially commence this August. Alumni, partners, organizations, and friends of CSU are encouraged to participate in this meaningful initiative and help empower more deserving CSU students through education.

CSU and UNMAS Denpasar Strengthen Collaboration in Teacher Education

Cagayan State University-Sanchez Mira Campus and Universitas Mahasaraswati (UNMAS) Denpasar successfully held a collaborative meeting to advance academic and research partnerships in teacher education, reinforcing both institutions’ commitment to internationalization and quality higher education.

Representing UNMAS Denpasar were Prof. Dr. I Gusti Agung Sri Rwa Jayantini, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Research, Innovation, and Partnership; I Made Dharma Atmaja, Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education; Ms. Wersi Murtini, Partnership Liaison Officer for the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education; and Putu Candrawati, Director for Internationalization.

Leading the CSU delegation were Dr. Ana Marie Cristina C. Cauilan, Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization (VPIPRM) and officals and faculty of Sanchez Mira Campus led by Dr. Rodel Alegado, Campus Executive Officer; Dr. Verlino Baddu, Dean of the College of Teacher Education; together with faculty members from the College of Teacher Education.

The meeting explored collaborative initiatives in faculty and student mobility and other academic and research exchange opportunities aimed at strengthening teacher education and fostering global engagement between the two partner universities.

|| Four CSU Students Named Project Leads, Advance to AUS 2026 Top 40 in Singapore

Cagayan State University (CSU) continues to strengthen its presence on the international stage as four of its students were selected as Project Leads during the Asian Undergraduate Symposium (AUS) 2026 in Singapore, advancing to the Top 40 from more than 300 project proposals submitted by aspiring innovators from participating universities across Asia.

The selected Project Leads are Richmond George A. Agustin (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, CSU Carig Campus) for Politi-KNOWS; Nicole Mae B. Panuncio (Bachelor of Science in Biology, CSU Carig Campus) for GreenShade; Shella Mae S. Danao (Bachelor of Library and Information Science, CSU Carig Campus) for Learning Bahay Kubo Hub; and Reywel Vaughn M. Agbayani (Bachelor of Science in Legal Management, CSU Andrews Campus) for COCOBAM, in collaboration with Danica A. Seriote (Bachelor of Secondary Education, CSU Aparri Campus).

As Project Leads, the students will spearhead multidisciplinary teams in refining and pitching their innovative proposals before an international panel of evaluators. From the Top 40, only 15 outstanding projects will be selected to receive program funding for implementation, providing the opportunity to transform their ideas into impactful and sustainable initiatives.

This milestone highlights the ingenuity, leadership, and global competitiveness of CSU students while reinforcing the University's commitment to innovation, research, and internationalization.

|| CSU-GONZAGA HOSTS INAUGURAL UCSI–CSU GLOBAL ACADEMIC ADVANCEMENT PARTNERSHIP FORUM ON HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM
Cagayan State University, through its Gonzaga Campus, strengthened its internationalization efforts after successfully co-hosting the 1st International UCSI–CSU Global Academic Advancement Partnership (GAAP) Forum on Hospitality and Tourism with UCSI University via Zoom platform, July 8–9, 2026.
The international delegation comprised representatives from UCSI University (Kuching and Sarawak Campuses, Malaysia), Universitas Warmadewa and Universitas Triatma Mulya of Indonesia, and Kumo Restaurant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and joined by delegates from 18 Philippine higher education institutions and local tourism, travel, and training organizations.
Designed to operationalize future faculty and student mobility programs, the forum explored key themes on sustainable tourism, digital innovation, hospitality education, industry competencies, and crisis resilience.
In his message, Cagayan State University Officer-in-Charge President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez emphasized that meaningful international partnerships expand opportunities for collaborative research, innovation, and educational excellence.
UCSI University Pro Vice Chancellor Madam Mukvinder Kaur Sandhu likewise highlighted the need for higher education institutions to work collectively in addressing sustainability, technological advancement, and economic uncertainty.
The forum also showcased Cagayan State University’s continuing commitment to Internationalization-at-Home, as emphasized by Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization Dr. Ana Marie Cristina Cauilan, enabling students and faculty to engage with global experts without leaving the country.
Highlights of the forum included presentations on responsible tourism management, global tourism trends, artificial intelligence and digital transformation in hospitality, harmonizing hospitality education across ASEAN, and strengthening crisis preparedness for tourism destinations.
As the first initiative under the UCSI–CSU Global Academic Advancement Partnership, the forum is expected to serve as a springboard for expanded academic exchanges, joint research projects, extension collaborations, and stronger institutional partnerships across Southeast Asia.

Delegates from Cagayan State University have officially arrived at the National University of Singapore to participate in the prestigious two-week 2026 Asian Undergraduate Symposium.
