RUTH RESUELLO
Ruth Resuello is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, audio engineer, and cultural advocate. She is the founder and CEO of Northern Root Records, the first internationally affiliated record label based in Cagayan, now a distribution sub-label of Warner Music Philippines, where she mentors hundreds of aspiring musicians and manages artists from Canada, Australia, the United States, and across the Philippines.
As an artist, she composed the first Ibanag song released under Warner Music Philippines and featured on an official Spotify editorial playlist. Her works have gained international recognition through television, print, and digital media, while her songwriting earned her the top prize in the Friedrich Naumann Foundation's Freedom Songwriting Competition. In 2021, her duo Letrang Norte won the Cultural Center of the Philippines National Songwriting Competition and later received multiple Awit Awards nominations.
Through Northern Root Records, Resuello champions the use of Ibanag, Itawit, Ilocano, and Pangasinense in contemporary music, mentoring emerging artists and bringing Cagayano talent to national and international audiences through partnerships with Warner Music Philippines, Wish 107.5, MYX, and MTV. Her work continues to advance the preservation of local languages and the global recognition of Northern Luzon's musical heritage.
