A hackathon and a startup begin the same way — someone notices a problem, guesses at a solution, and has to convince other people it is worth building. The only difference is how much time you get.

This session is led by 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐬, 𝐂𝐨-𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐓𝐎 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝟑 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜., who brings real experience from both competitions and the products that came after them. He walks through the path in the order a team actually hits it:

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬: how to tell a real problem from an interesting one, and how to cut it down to something you can finish and show.

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: choosing the shortest path to a working thing and knowing which corners are safe to cut.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠: what to build for real, what to fake, and why faking the right thing is not cheating.

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞: working backwards from the demo, and why the last two hours belong to the presentation, not the code.

Several officers of the AWS Student Builder Group – USLT Chapter took part in the Supreme Student Council’s On the Field, On the Spot session on September 26, 2026, at the Bulwagang Teodulfo Domingo.

The session focused on essential first-aid knowledge and emergency response skills for sports-related situations, equipping participants with practical knowledge that can be valuable both on and off the field.

Through initiatives like this, our officers continue to learn beyond the classroom and strengthen their readiness to respond when it matters.
