With the aim of boosting math skills, problem-solving mojo, and an unwavering love for all things math, this competition plans to be a regular shindig, happening every semester.

USLT hosts Math-a-Thon Season 4, crowns champs

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan—After multiple reschedulings caused by weather conditions, the effort to strengthen math skills across Cagayan Valley brought 55 students from 20 schools to the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao on December 6 for Math-a-Thon Season 4.

Math-a-Thon S4, a service-learning program of the School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering and the Basic Education mSchool, carried the theme “Fibonacci Frenzy – Unraveling Nature’s Code,” focusing on math learning, community involvement, and problem solving.

The contest featured two categories: a written exam round, giving participants 30 minutes to solve problems, and an oral round, where contestants answered questions within a set time, progressing from easy to more difficult problems.

The first group included Aldersgate College Inc., Capatan Integrated School, Cataggaman National High School, Cagayan National High School-SHS, Cagayan National High School-JHS, and Delfin Albano High School. The second group included Enrile Vocational High School, Gadu National High School, ISAP Tuguegarao, Itawes National High School, Jones Rural School, and La Salette of Aurora Inc.

Additionally, Piat National High School, Saint Louis College of Solano Inc., Solana National High School, Tuguegarao City Science High School, University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, Vicente D. Trinidad National High School, and Licerio Antiporda Sr. National High School-Dalaya Extension.

The contest named winners in three divisions:
