Principal IV Susan Pagulayan underscored the importance of the initiative, saying:
“This is an avenue for us to hear the accomplishments, the status of the Barangay and to hear suggestions so that we could give a better service to our constituents.”

Through Kumustahan, the school fosters stronger partnerships with barangay officials and residents, ensuring that Project WATCH is not only a school-based advocacy but also a community-wide movement. The initiative highlights the school’s dedication to honesty, time consciousness, and collaborative leadership—values that empower both learners and the wider community.

Barangay leaders welcomed the program, recognizing its potential to promote accountability, transparency, and shared responsibility. Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – March 12, 2026. Pengue-Ruyu Elementary School actively participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) this afternoon at 2:00 p.m., underscoring its commitment to disaster preparedness and community resilience.

At the sound of the siren, students, teachers, and staff promptly executed the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” procedure before evacuating to designated safe zones. The drill was conducted in an orderly manner under the supervision of school officials, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.

The School Principal, Susan A. Pagulayan, highlighted the importance of the event, stressing that both teachers and learners play vital roles during emergencies.

The drill also served as a practical learning experience, reinforcing lessons on disaster risk reduction and management.

By joining the nationwide initiative, Pengue-Ruyu Elementary School reaffirmed its role as a values-driven institution that prioritizes both education and the welfare of its learners and community.

Vision of Hope for Pengue-Ruyu Elementary School Learners!

Lions International, in partnership with Sto. Tomas Optical Clinic, has brought the gift of clear sight to the learners of Pengue-Ruyu Elementary School through a free eye check-up and eyeglasses program.

This initiative ensures that every child has the opportunity to see clearly, learn better, and dream bigger. With proper eye care, our young learners can focus on their studies, enjoy their daily activities, and build confidence in and out of the classroom.
