NEWS| LNHS sends off 39 athletes to CAVRAA, grants cash allowance

Linao Norte, Tuguegarao City — Linao National High School (LNHS) sent off its delegation to the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) Meet today, April 8 at the school gymnasium, with 39 student-athletes set to compete in various sporting events.

The delegation also includes nine coaches and trainers, along with three technical officials in the different sporting events.

During the ceremony, each athlete received a ₱500 cash allowance from the school, while coaches and trainers were likewise provided with financial assistance. The athletes also received brand-new towels from sponsors as part of the school’s support.

The School Parent-Teacher Association headed by President Mirasol Maguddayao provided snacks to the athletes, their parents, and other guests present during the send-off activity.

In her message, Mabborang reminded the athletes to uphold discipline and integrity as they represent the school in the regional meet. She emphasized the importance of bringing pride to the institution through both performance and character.

Jenny Ann Ruz, a three-time CAVRAA badminton player, shared in her message that she is set to make her final high school appearance in the sport as she represents LNHS once more in the regional meet. She encouraged her fellow athletes to stay focused, trust their preparation, and give their best performance.

“Para sa akin, ang huling paglahok ko sa high school sa larong badminton ay isang malaking karangalan at alaala na habang-buhay kong babaunin. Maraming pagsubok at training ang pinagdaanan ko, ngunit sa bawat laro, natutunan kong maging mas matatag at mas determinado. Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa aking mga coaches, kakampi, at sa buong LNHS na naging bahagi ng aking sports journey. Sa aking mga kapwa atleta, magtiwala lang kayo sa inyong paghahanda, magpakatatag, at ibigay ang inyong buong makakaya sa bawat laban. Laban lang para sa ating paaralan,” Ruz added.

The LNHS delegation is set to represent the school in the upcoming CAVRAA Meet on April 12–16 at Santiago City, Isabela.

Linao National High School will hold a send-off program for its qualified athletes for the upcoming CAVRAA Meet 2026. This will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 8am, at the LNHS gymnasium. Coaches, athletes, and their parents are invited to attend the event. This program aims to give support to the athletes and wish them luck for their upcoming competition.
