Amos, bumida sa Trashion Show 2024; Region 12, Kampeonato

Muling pinatunayan ng Amos ang kanilang pagkapanalo bilang kampeon sa Trashion Show 2024 matapos ipakita ang kani-kanilang kakaibang galing sa paggawa ng malikhaing kasuotan sa pamamagitan ng recyclable materials.

Kinatawan ng Amos ang Region 12, Soccsksargen, at ipinakita ni Ralph Carag (Male Category) at Mich Daryl Isidoro (Female Category) and kanilang pagrampa at naidala nila ang pagod at pawis ng buong Section Amos.

Muling maririnig ulit ang kanilang Legendary Yell na “Dangal at Husay” at pinatunayan hanggang sa huli na ang Amos ay ang Tigre ng Set A.

Male - "Mandirigmang Sining" (Art's Warrior)
Female - "Diyosa ng Kalinangan" (Goddess of Culture)

Description:

Rooted in the fact that the Spaniards never got to conquer the entire island of Mindanao, the male costume was named "Mandirigmang Sining" or "Art's Warrior". This worn masterpiece embodies the strength and resilience of the men of Region 12, particularly the indigenous T'boli and Blaan tribes.

The most prominent elements of this artwork is the Sarimanok shoulder sleeves made up of recycled feathers, rice hulls and plastic bottle cap. The Kulintang, which is an instrument that have orginated from their region is also featured. It is made up of recycled cartons and the gong itself is created out of the plastic container of wilkins. Lastly, the Basket which consists of cans and tansan are shaped and painted to imitate their very own T'nalak textile patterns.

Moreover, the interior of the Basket consists of their local agricultural products, such as banana, coconut, pineapple, tuna, and Corn. Other elements also echo their subsistence and their beloved tourist spot, the Lake Sebu.

Advocating for Charism and Community from South to the North, Prophet Amos supports the principles of recycling and reverence for the environment. Together, let us stitch a sustainable legacy of culture for generations to come!

On the other side, bearing the fruits of camaraderie and environmental consciousness, the female costume, named "Diyosa ng Kalinangan" or "Goddess of Culture" celebrates the beauty and elegance of the women in Region 12. This ravishing attire draws inspiration from the vibrant heritage of the Maguindanao and Maranao communities.

The costume mainly highlights the
paintings that shows their culture, religion and their crops. It also reflects various weaving patterns found in the region. While the materials used are mostly reused and recycled corn, wooden beads, carton, peanut sack, and tansans. Last but not the least, the colors are meticulously chosen to exhibit the color palette of the region, which are red, yellow, black, blue, and cream.

With each element, stitch and pattern narrating tales of tradition, these ensembles form living tributes to the people of the region, radiating the spirits of creativity and conservation.

Students of Amos join in the 2024 Career Guidance Day of St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP), showcasing their passion and career pursuits in the near future on May 20, 2024.

Vish Gwyneth Bassilio, Mich Daryl Isidoro, and Jerry B. Sagabaen III—representatives of Amos—gathered some awards: Basilio was hailed as the Career Guidance Day 2024 Ambassadress, Mich Daryl Isidoro was hailed as Finalist, and Jerry B. Sagabaen III was hailed as the 3rd Runner-up in the Male category.

Here at SPUP, we develop students to find their desired career and reach their limitless potential to achieve their dreams—by not telling, but showing.

On April 19, 2024 marks the ITECON 2024 with the thene of 'WEAVING SUSTAINABLE SYNERGY IN INFO TECH, ENGINEERING PROSPECTS'. SPUP-School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) spearheaded the conduct of the Regional Information Technology and Engineering Convention 2024 (ITECon2024).

With that, Grade 12 students from different sections, including Section Prophet Amos, continues to shine through the spot light as they made their way up to the top. These are the students who made their names known throughout the different catgeories✨️

Dangal at Husay Propeta Amos!

Nandito na ang Amos sa pagpapakitang-gilas ng Folk Dance at Hip-Hop sa nakaraang Culminating Activity ng mga Ika-12 na baitang sa St. Paul University Philippines.

Dangal para sa mga ensayo, hirap, at dedikasyon ng Amos na siyang kumatawan sa pagkapanalo sa gitna ng kaunting panahon upang mahasa at makuha ang Korona.

Husay naman para sa nagbabagang talento sa pagsasayaw na wala manlang tulong sa kahit anong tagaturo dahil sila-sila rin ang nag tulungan para maiuwi ang pagkapanalo.

The beads of colorful memories create connection with one another. In this another memorable activity, Prophet Amos engages to promote friendship and unity. 🫂

As beads signify the people and the strings attached on one end tells us that no matter the circumstances, Amos is and will always find their way to each other.

The piece symbolises not only the simplicity of the design but also symbolises a pyramid of foods. Despite the design, this also shows that gaining food is important as it strengthen our bodies, keep us away from hunger and can sharpen our minds.

Food conservation signifies the importance of saving food as it is the most needed component for us humans to live. Not only that but it'll be beneficial in terms of the environment, reduces food waste, and save resources.

Let this be a reminder that conserving food will not only help the environment but also ensuring that future generations can enjoy the natural sources that we get to experience, today! ✨️
