A Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was formally signed among the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Human Resources Development Foundation, Inc. (PCCI HRDF), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cagayan Chapter, and Cagayan State University – Carig Campus, signifying a shared commitment to promote cybersecurity awareness, digital responsibility, and future collaborative development programs for students, faculty, and the academic community.

Present during the ceremonial signing and partnership engagement were Dr. Alberto P. Fenix, Jr., President of PCCI HRDF; Ms. Evelyn L. Velasco, President of PCCI Cagayan Chapter; Dr. Jennifer B. Ibanez, Campus Director for IPRM; Dr. Generino P. Siddayao, University Dean of the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS); Prof. Crizaldy P. Binarao, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM); Prof. Dexter Dumayag; and Ms. Annie Klein Sarol, CSU CICS University Deans’ Secretary. Their presence reflected the university’s strong support for meaningful partnerships that benefit learners and further strengthen industry-academe collaboration.

The agreement establishes the framework for the conduct of Cyber Hygiene Training as an initial joint undertaking, while opening doors for future programs in entrepreneurship, workforce readiness, digital skills enhancement, mentoring, innovation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives between the academic and business sectors.

This milestone partnership highlights the collective vision of CSU Carig Campus, PCCI HRDF, and PCCI Cagayan in preparing future-ready graduates and building empowered communities through education, innovation, and collaboration.

Today we celebrate the famous number π
(approximately 3.14) the constant that connects every circle in mathematics and in the universe.

𝒟𝒾𝒹 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓁𝑜𝓃𝑔 𝒷𝑒𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒 𝒸𝒶𝓁𝒸𝓊𝓁𝒶𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓈 𝑒𝓍𝒾𝓈𝓉𝑒𝒹, 𝓂𝒶𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓂𝒶𝓉𝒾𝒸𝒾𝒶𝓃𝓈 𝑒𝓈𝓉𝒾𝓂𝒶𝓉𝑒𝒹 π 𝓊𝓈𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓅𝑜𝓁𝓎𝑔𝑜𝓃𝓈?

The Greek mathematician Archimedes approximated π by drawing polygons inside and outside a circle and increasing the number of sides—eventually using a 96-sided polygon to get a close value. Centuries later, mathematicians pushed this idea even further; in China, the brilliant scholar Zu Chongzhi used polygons with thousands of sides to calculate π accurately to 3.14159. This clever “polygon method” showed how persistence and mathematical thinking can uncover the secrets of numbers.

So today, as we celebrate π, remember that mathematics is not only about formulas—it is also about curiosity, creativity, and the endless pursuit of knowledge.

ICYMI || The 3-Day Training on Basic Statistics successfully concluded on February 27, 2026. The activity was indeed a fruitful and enriching experience for all participants.

Day 2 featured distinguished Resource Speakers from Cagayan State University - Carig Campus, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, led by the College Dean, Mr. Crizaldy Binarao, MS. He opened the session with a lively and insightful lecture that set the tone for the day. He was joined by Assoc. Prof. Joel Casibang, MST, and Asst. Prof. Mark Anthony Soriano, Ed.D. Participants gained valuable knowledge on PhStat and Data Analysis, enhancing their understanding of statistical tools and applications.

Day 3 welcomed Resource Speakers from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering Department. Ms. Erovita Teresita B. Agustin, DME, and Ms. Jennifer C. Bangi, MARS, facilitated engaging and interactive hands-on activities that strengthened participants’ analytical skills. They were also joined by Mr. Christian Florald Morco, DILG–Cagayan LGOO II, whose participation further enriched the learning experience.

Overall, the three-day training was a meaningful and productive initiative. Participants not only strengthened their foundational knowledge in Statistics but also developed practical skills in data analysis and interpretation.
