Alpas Debate Society Clinches 2nd Place at the ValleyGHSahan Debate Championship

The Alpas Debate Society (ADS) proudly secured 1st Runner-Up in the ValleyGHSahan Debate Championship, proving its strength and consistency across a series of challenging and competitive rounds against top schools in the valley.

ADS began Match 1 with the topic: Children and Divorce against the University of La Salette.

In Match 2, facing the Tuguegarao City Science Highschool, with the topic: AI in the Healthcare System, ADS secured their first win.

Match 3 tackled The Rise of Fast Fashion against Cagayan National Highschool, with ADS scoring their second win.

Advancing to the Semifinals (Match 4), ADS once again met LaSalette on the motion Crimes Against Humanity, earning a decisive win that secured their place in the finals.

The championship concluded with Match 5 (Finals) with the topic: Education and Standardized Testing against Pisay. After a close and intense round, ADS emerged as the 2nd Placer of the tournament.

The competition brought together skilled debaters, but more than the title, ADS’ run reflected teamwork, discipline, and a strong commitment to critical discourse—marking another milestone for the society.

| 𝐀𝐃𝐒 𝐒𝐇𝐒 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐩, 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐭𝐨-𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

The recently concluded 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 brought together 102 of the finest secondary and college speakers and debaters, all vying for supremacy in a battle of wits, rhetoric, and analytical prowess. Emerging as the undisputed champions once again, the 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐚𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲.

Under the expert guidance of coach Mr. JR Palattao and with Mr. Paulo Mandac serving as a key moderator, the competition showcased exceptional talent across all levels. The competition highlighted the best and brightest in debating, with participants delivering compelling arguments, sharp rebuttals, and masterful persuasion. Alpas Debate Society stole the spotlight, not only securing the team championship but also dominating the individual speaker rankings.

The tournament honored the most outstanding speakers based on their eloquence, logical depth, and persuasive delivery. The rankings were as follows:

𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐇𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 delivered a historic performance, claiming both the 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬.

With this victory, the Alpas Debate Society SHS has achieved back-to-back championships in the Pattaradday Debate Cup, further solidifying their reputation as one of the most formidable debate teams in the circuit. Their success is a testament to rigorous training, teamwork, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

With yet another trophy in their cabinet, the Alpas Debate Society SHS has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with, and the debate community will undoubtedly be watching their next move.

LOOK WHO CLAIMED THE CROWN WITH HEART, HONOR, AND HUMILITY 👑 🏆 !!

The Alpas Debate Society proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of our Junior and Senior High School debaters at the Pattaradday Debate Cup 2025— a tournament that brought together 102 of the finest secondary and college speakers in a battle of wit, rhetoric, and analytical skill. Under the expert guidance of Coach Mr. JR Palattao and with Mr. Paulo Mandac as moderator, our Paulinan debaters shone a light on their skill, dedication, and the values we hold dear as debaters.

The ADS SHS 1 Delivered an astounding performance, taking the title of champion after fiercely raking their way through 5 matches: the eliminations, quarterfinals, semifinals and the grand finals. Jamila Huenda set matches with structure and poise, while Franco Olivas delivered consice and persuasive extensions which all were finally crystallized by Ren Damaso the two time best speaker who after winning the spot of 7th best speaker in the first pattaraday cup, ranked his way up to 2nd place in the newest championship.

Meanwhile, the ADS SHS 2 squandered! Making it to the quarterfinals, continuing to burn the flames of truthful persistence while faced with many difficult foes. With the help of Sophia Testado's commanding demeanor and influential speeches; Joaquin prada their second speaker made an impact on the competition using his clever analogies and captivating diction. But most of all, their whip; Aubrei Tumbali, displayed exceptional flexibility and comprehensive argumentation. Her strategic approaches helped further strengthen their teams dynamics.

Lastly, The ADS JHS 1 shocked the battlefield as they ascended to the quarterfinals of pattaraday despite this being their first Debate competition. This proves that the fight is still long from over, as future Championships and competitions will only serve to pave the way towards their bright Debate journey.
Leonne Singun displayed unwavering confidence and resilience, Precious agcaoili with her rational and constructed argumentation, and finally Sarah Kent with her unique and elegant reconstruction of her team's cases as their whip truly reflected the values of a paulinian debater.
