There are teachers who enter a classroom to teach lessons, and then there are those who become part of the story of their students.
For the Criminology Council and the entire Criminology Department, Ma’am Shaine Anne V. Rabago, RCrim has become one of those people.
Her presence has always carried a certain kind of strength. She is the kind of instructor who believes that discipline is not simply about following rules—it is about learning responsibility, understanding consequences, and becoming someone worthy of the profession we hope to enter someday.
She can be strict when she needs to be. Her words can be firm, her expectations high, and her reminders unforgettable. But behind that strictness is something much deeper: a genuine desire to see her students grow.
And then, unexpectedly, there is the other side of her.
The laughter.
The humor.
The moments that turn an ordinary day into a memorable one.
Behind the disciplined instructor is a woman who knows how to bring joy into a room. Someone who can be serious one moment and make everyone laugh the next.
Perhaps what makes her even more admirable is how she carries herself—with humility, respect, and consideration. Despite the position she holds and the responsibility entrusted to her, she remains grounded and approachable.
And yes, she is beautiful—but her beauty becomes even more meaningful because it is accompanied by a beautiful character and a heart that genuinely cares.
Over time, the students may forget certain lectures, assignments, or examinations. But they will remember the people who stood beside them during their formative years, the people who corrected them when they were wrong, challenged them when they could do better, laughed with them when things became difficult, and quietly guided them toward becoming better versions of themselves.
That is where her story becomes more than just that of an instructor.
She became a guiding force not only for the Council, but for the entire Department, someone whose influence reaches beyond the classroom and into the character of the students she helps shape.
And perhaps that is one of the most beautiful things about being a teacher: to leave something behind in people without even realizing how deeply you have touched their lives.
Today, the department celebrates not merely another year in the life of an instructor, but another chapter in the life of a woman who has become part of many students’ stories.
