Empowering the student leaders of tomorrow, the โ€œLead the Leaders 2026โ€: A Strategic Capacity-Building and Governance Training for the Division Federation SSLG Officers, and Officers of Schoolโ€™s SSLG, and YES-O, BKD/B and DRRM Organizations was held from September 7-8 and 10, 2026, at the Taj Hotel and Restaurant, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The immersive program was designed to improve leadership, communication, decision-making, and parliamentary skills, emphasizing that true leadership extends far beyond holding a titleโ€”it is rooted in active listening, effective representation, and collaborative teamwork.

Accompanied and guided by our dedicated SSLG Adviser, Ma'am Janet S. Baccay, the delegation was supported every step of the way to ensure a successful 3 days training experience.

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) PRESIDENT Joana Rose Adduru and VICE PRESIDENT Karl Adrian Pattaui of Annafunan Integrated School, took part in the Tuguegarao City Youth Camp (TCYC) 2026, in Sta. Ana, Cagayan, last September 5-7, 2026.

The three-day retreat was a wonderful opportunity for the young leaders to bond with each other while they learn more about leadership to become better role models and responsible citizens in the year to come.

The event was made more special with the participation of the esteemed speakers and resource persons who enlightened the young leaders with their thoughts and ideas about different issues affecting the youth.

Ms. Myra Rivera, Presidential Staff Officer II of the National Youth Commission (NYC) Regions II and III, was invited to talk with the young leaders about the Philippine Youth Development Plan, and how being part of it can inspire them to be more involved in nation-building and community development.

Mr. Marlon Alexandre Dela Peรฑa, Presidential Officer I of the National Youth Commission (NYC) Regions II and III, enlightened the young leaders on the topic Digital Literacy and Well-being. He reminded and encouraged them to always be wise and responsible in the use of social media since it had become part of their everyday life.

Mr. Joshua Arquero, Assistant Regional Director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region II, shared his insights on the current issues and problems involving illegal drugs in the country. He challenged the young leaders to be drug-free and to strive to make better decisions and choices in their quest for excellence as they pursue their dreams and endeavors in life.

The activities that were done during the camp created a wonderful platform for the young leaders to learn more, share and discuss several topics and issues affecting the youth, and have fun together as they network with each other.

Since the camp is all about leadership and youth development, the young leaders learned the meaning of leadership from each other as they engage in different activities and interactions with each other.

They say it is safe to assume that leadership is not all about the title and the power that comes with it, but rather it is about having the confidence and the guts to stand up and be known as a responsible leader who cares about his community and country.

As the three-day camp came to an end with the young leaders enjoying their time with each other through the various fun activities that were organized during the event, they left with new knowledge and contacts that they made throughout the camp as they spent quality time together.

It is a true saying that where young minds meet, leaders emerge, and where leaders emerge, communities prosper.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tuguegarao and the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) must also be commended for their roles in the success of TCYC 2026, as they always spare no effort in bringing the young leaders together for various events such as the Tuguegarao City Youth Camp.
