If no one has told you today,
I believe in you.
I see the endless deadlines you're trying to meet.
The quiet worries you carry.
The exhaustion you may be hiding.
But I am rooting for you.

In a world that asks so much from you, surviving one difficult day at a time is already a quiet triumph that the world might not see, but your heart remembers.
To anyone reading this, your current struggles do not define your worth, and they definitely do not mean the end of your story. You donโt have to carry the heavy weight of your thoughts all by yourself.
Be gentle with your heart.
There is still hope.
Still healing.

In times of struggle, we Ilocanos have a phrase we quietly hold onto:
It is a reminder that even after loss, failure, heartbreak, or exhaustion, something still remains, strength, hope, courage, or even just the will to keep going. In a world that constantly demands so much from us, this simple phrase reflects the quiet resilience many of us carry every day.
As students facing academic pressure, uncertainty, and personal challenges, may we remember that hardships do not mean the end of our story. There will always be people willing to listen, support, and walk alongside us through difficult moments. The Cagayan State University Guidance and Counseling Office continues to serve as a safe space for every student, reminding us that amidst lifeโs challenges, addan tu latta.
There will always be hope, healing, and a chance to begin again.

I tend to forget things easily, even the things I did just the day before. Thatโs why every January, I make it a goal to document my everyday shenanigans; what I do, what I eat, how I spend my money, and the moments I loved or hated the most during the day. But true to my never-ending cycle, the habit only lasts for a couple of days.
Most of my favorite vloggers journal, specifically junk journalingโso I wanted to try it for myself. I bought an A5 notebook and some glue, then started collecting receipts, packaging, and little keepsakes, which I later learned are called โephemera.โ That notebook became my first journal, where I wrote and pasted just about anything. But of course, being me, I wasnโt consistent with it.
When I was deciding which workshop to attend during PAPJA, I hoped there would be one about journaling. And there it was on the list: โWhere Creativity Meets Calm: Journaling for Inner and Everyday Sustainabilityโ by Sir Jurome Nexus Tobias, RPm. I registered expecting to learn how to become more consistent with journaling, but instead, I learned something completely different.
Journaling, after all, is not about consistency. What matters more is the intention behind the words, drawings, and ephemera we choose to keep. And that emphasis on intention doesnโt only apply to journalingโit applies to life itself. Before we do something, we can ask ourselves: โWhat is this for?โ
When we choose to bed rot and endlessly scroll through our phones, is it because we genuinely need rest after a long and productive day, or are we avoiding the tasks we know we need to face?
So to my fellow CSUans, hereโs a question to reflect on today:
What are you giving your time and energy to right now, and does it truly align with what you need or value?

It takes a matter of perspective to ponder oneโs purpose, especially in moments when doubt and pressure begin to cloud the path ahead. But growth is never linear, and not every season is meant to have all the answers right away.
There will be moments when we quietly ask ourselves if weโre doing enough, becoming enough, or even meant to be where we are. In a world that constantly pressures us to have everything figured out, itโs easy to feel lost in the middle of growth and uncertainty. That is why the words shared by keynote speaker Jodi Sta. Maria during the 39th PAPJA Annual Convention last April 27โ28, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center resonated with so many:
And being in a sea of around 7,000 Psychology students and professionals, you would as well see yourself reflect on how everyone carries their own emotional baggage, silent battles, and lingering questions about whether they truly belong, yet still continue showing up, learning, and growing.
No one is expected to navigate lifeโs challenges alone. If you find yourself in the constant loop of uncertainty, or whether you need a shoulder to lean on, reassurance, or simply someone who will listen, the University Guidance and Counseling Center remains a safe space ready to support you through every step, setback, and breakthrough. Your journey matters, and so do you.
Mahigpit na yakap, CSUan.

It all began in the early 1900s when people needed help choosing the right careers. During a time of rapid societal, economic, and industrial shifts, workers and immigrants were trying to find where they belonged. Hindi ka nagiisa sa identity crisis phase mo, ever since the beginning, humans have always needed guidance when it comes to life decisions.
As this need grew, vocational guidance started to take shape, helping individuals know themselves better, explore their options, and make wise choices. Eventually, this idea expanded into schools and communities, where guidance and counseling began supporting not just career concerns, but also academic struggles, personal issues, and emotional well-being. โ, it became about โkamusta ka?โ
Today, guidance and counseling continue to evolve as a safe space for self-discovery, healing, and growth. From โlost ako, ano ba dapat kong i-pursue? kaya ko ba โtong pinasok ko?โ moments to โkaya ko naman palaโ realizations, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Whether itโs academic stress, life decisions, or those โbakit ganito ang buhay?โ moments, our guidance counselors are always ready with open doors, open ears, and zero judgment.
Think of them as your schoolโs emotional support squad, minus the capes, but fully equipped with empathy, wisdom, and really good advice.
So this month, letโs celebrate growth, self-care, and the power of talking things out instead of bottling them up.
Normalize asking for help, checking in on friends, and taking mental health breaks without guilt.
