DENR Conducts Climate Change IEC Campaign for Grade 3 Learners of Tuguegarao East Central School

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign on Climate Change for the Grade 3 learners of Tuguegarao East Central School today.

The activity aimed to raise environmental awareness and encourage young learners to become responsible stewards of nature.

As part of the campaign, discussions focused on climate change, biodiversity conservation, and proper waste disposal practices.

To reinforce learning, selected learners actively participated in a demonstration on proper waste segregation, showcasing the correct classification and disposal of different types of waste materials.

The DENR team also distributed copies of the storybook “Si Sierra Agila at Ako,” which highlights the importance of protecting the environment and preserving biodiversity.

Through storytelling, learners gained valuable insights into caring for nature and understanding their role in environmental conservation.

Towards the end of the activity, learners enthusiastically took part in a fun and engaging segment where they transformed into "Planet Superheroes," promoting environmental responsibility and encouraging positive actions to help protect the Earth.

The activity was facilitated by Princess Margarett S. Astudillo, Communications Development Officer II; Forester Rosemarie E. Almazan, Ecosystems Management Specialist II; and Lance Adrian C. Tumanguil, Information Officer, who shared their expertise and inspired the learners to become active partners in safeguarding the environment.

The school extends its sincere gratitude to the DENR team for conducting this meaningful and educational activity that empowered learners with knowledge and practical ways to contribute to environmental protection and climate change adaptation.
