Empowering Teachers: Fostering Unity through Gender Development and Team Building at Anguib Beach, Santa Ana, Cagayan on July 4-5, 2024.

In the serene and picturesque setting of Anguib Beach, Santa Ana, Cagayan, a remarkable event unfolded, aimed at empowering teachers and fostering unity through gender development and team building. This two-day retreat brought together TLE Girls Teachers from various backgrounds, united by a common goal: to enhance their understanding of gender dynamics and strengthen their teamwork skills for a more inclusive and collaborative educational environment.


Day 1: The first day began with a thought-provoking lecture by Mrs. Rebecca P. Cumigad titled "Man is from Mars, Women is from Venus". This session delved into the inherent differences between men and women, highlighting the unique perspectives and strengths each gender brings to the table. Mrs. Cumigad's engaging presentation encouraged teachers to appreciate and leverage these differences, promoting a more harmonious and productive school environment.

Participants were captivated by the insights shared, sparking lively discussions and reflections on their personal experiences. The lecture emphasized the importance of empathy, understanding, and respect in bridging gender gaps and fostering a more inclusive atmosphere within the educational sphere.

As the day transitioned into evening, the atmosphere lightened with a fun-filled Pajama Party. This social gathering provided a relaxed setting for teachers to bond, share stories, and forge new friendships. The camaraderie and laughter that filled the air were a testament to the event's success in bringing educators closer together, transcending professional boundaries and creating a sense of unity.

Day 2:The second day commenced with a lecture on "ICT for Gender Bias in the Classroom" of Mrs. Bergonia. This session aimed to equip teachers with the knowledge and tools to identify and address gender biases that may exist within their teaching practices and classroom environments. By integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategies, educators learned how to create a more equitable and inclusive learning experience for all students, regardless of gender.

The lecture provided practical tips and real-world examples, empowering teachers to implement positive changes in their classrooms. The participants left with a deeper understanding of how to use technology to promote gender equality and foster an environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Following the lecture, the focus shifted to team building activities designed to strengthen collaboration and teamwork among the teachers. These activities, set against the stunning backdrop of Anguib Beach, encouraged participants to work together, communicate effectively, and build trust. The exercises not only reinforced the importance of unity in achieving common goals but also highlighted the diverse skills and perspectives each teacher brought to the group.

This training underscored the vital role that educators play in shaping a more inclusive and unified society. As these teachers return to their respective schools, they carry with them the lessons learned and the bonds formed at Anguib Beach, ready to inspire and lead with empathy, understanding, and a commitment to fostering unity through gender development and teamwork.

Three TLE girls teachers, Ma'am Rebecca P. Cumigad, Ma'am Ma. Visitacion Guillermo, and Antonia Atendido, participated in the 2nd National Convention with the theme "Investing in Skills Development: Shaping the Future with the Power of Skills" at Hotel Linda,Ilocos Sur from March 1-3, 2024.

Mam Rebecca Cumigad, the Head Teacher VI of the TLE Girls Department, presented her research on the Prevalence, Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Obese Junior High school students at Cagayan National High School during the event.
