‎On September 17, 2026, the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS) of Cagayan State University – Carig Campus successfully carried out another extension activity under IT Support Services titled ‎“𝑺𝑴𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑺𝑪𝑨𝑵: 𝑨 𝑩𝒊𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒕-𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒚𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒆𝒓” at Imurung National High School, Baggao, Cagayan.

‎The activity introduced an innovative digital solution designed to streamline attendance monitoring through biometric technology. Faculty members, school personnel, and participants were given an overview of the system’s features, functions, and practical applications, highlighting how technology can improve efficiency, accuracy, and accountability in educational institutions.
‎
‎More than a technology deployment, the program served as a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing between CSU-Carig and the partner school. Through initiatives such as SMARTSCAN, CICS continues to strengthen its commitment to community engagement, technological advancement, and the promotion of digital transformation in local educational communities.
‎
‎As the project moves forward, it stands as a testament to the power of innovation and partnership in creating smarter, more responsive learning environments for future generations.

On September 2, 2026, CICS faculty members planted 150 trees at Project ORCHARD, CSU-Piat Campus, while CICS students joined the initiative and planted an additional 70 trees at CSU-Carig Campus. At the Piat Campus, the faculty planted fruit-bearing rambutan and pomelo seedlings, adding not only greenery but also the promise of future harvests.

Together, the CICS community planted 220 seedlings, a small but meaningful contribution toward a greener and more sustainable future.

More than simply putting seedlings into the soil, the activity reflected CICS's commitment to environmental responsibility, sustainability, and community engagement. It was also a reminder that the best College Days memories are not always found on the stage or in the scoreboard, sometimes, they're rooted in the ground.

Who says a pageant is all about crowns, walks, and “And why should you be the next Mr./Ms. CICS?”?

On September 1, 2026, the Mr. and Ms. CICS 2026 pageant took the spotlight as one of the highlights of the CICS College Days 2026, and this time, our candidates brought something more meaningful to the runway, culture.

The Cultural Attire segment transformed the pageant stage into a colorful celebration of Filipino identity, heritage, and tradition. Each candidate stepped forward not only to showcase an ensemble, but also to represent the stories, artistry, and cultural influences woven into our communities.

And yes, the candidates came prepared to serve looks, but they also came prepared to serve culture!

As part of the September 1-2 CICS College Days celebration, the cultural attire segment gave our CICSians an opportunity to appreciate heritage while celebrating the creativity, confidence, and diversity of our student community.

Because at CICS, we don't just wear the crown, we know the culture behind it. 𝘼𝙜𝙗𝙞𝙖𝙜 𝙩𝙞 𝙠𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖!

As one of the contested events during the CICS College Days 2026, the “Ammung na Pangngo” Cagayan Culture Quiz Bee was conducted on September 2, 2026, at the CHASS Building, Room 103.

The activity brought together teams from BLIS, BSCS, BSIT, and BMMA in a fun and educational competition highlighting the history, heritage, traditions, festivals, ethnolinguistic groups, and cultural treasures of Cagayan.

The quiz bee aimed to promote cultural appreciation, regional pride, and cultural literacy among CICS students, helping keep the rich culture and heritage of Cagayan alive and meaningful to the younger generation.

When the CICSians learn their history, heritage lives on. When they celebrate it, culture continues to thrive. The quiz may be over, but the stories, traditions, and pride that make Cagayan unique are ours to carry forward.

CSU-Carig and CICS Launch ANDALE-MS for Andarayan National High School 🚀

Cagayan State University – Carig Campus, through the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS), successfully led the Official Launching and Deployment of "ANDALE-MS" (An Integrated Monitoring System for Faculty and Staff Attendance, Leave Management, and Official Engagements) at Andarayan National High School last August 3, 2026.

The event opened with a warm welcome from Mr. Carlo M. Caranguian, Principal II , represented by Master Teacher II, Ma'am Elizabeth P. Ubina of Andarayan National High School, who expressed appreciation for the university's continued partnership in bringing innovative solutions to the school. Engr. Roger P. Rumpon, Campus Executive Officer of CSU-Carig, followed with a message affirming the university's commitment to extending technology-driven support to its partner institutions in the community.

The program's centerpiece was the system overview and live demonstration led by Prof. Vince Gilbert M. Cabasag, the software developer behind ANDALE-MS, who walked participants through the platform's core features and discussed the user manual to guide teachers and staff in adopting the new system. An open forum followed, facilitated by Prof. Mary Rose F. Esteban, College Research Coordinator of CICS, giving faculty and staff the opportunity to raise questions and share feedback on the system's day-to-day use.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to the school principal, CEO, College Research Coordinator, College Dean, Professor Charmie S. Calvo and project members in recognition of their roles in bringing ANDALE-MS to life.

With this launch, Andarayan National High School now has a dedicated digital system to streamline attendance monitoring, leave management, and official engagements — a testament to what academic institutions can accomplish when they work hand in hand with the communities they serve. Congratulations to everyone behind this milestone project! 👏
