CSU GAD, CAO OFFICE CONDUCT WELLNESS SEMINAR FOR ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL DURING THE UNIVERSITY'S NATIONAL EDUCATION SUPPORT PERSONNEL DAY CELEBRATION.

To strengthen mental resilience among education support personnel at all campuses, University Gender and Development (GAD) Office, in partnership with the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), held a seminar titled "You Matter: Prioritizing Mental Health and Self-Care in the Workplace," today, May 14, 2026 at CSU Piat Campus.

This event took place to celebrate "National Education Support Personnel Day." It aimed to recognize the hard work of non-teaching staff who play an essential role in the University's success.

The program began with a warm welcome by CSU Piat's Campus Executive Officer Hi**er Dangatan, Ph.D. Following this, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the University President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez , Ph.D., ASEAN Eng , CESE, delivered an inspirational message emphasizing the importance of staff well-being.

Ms. Lumine Plena Hernandez-Umoso, a former Instructor and College Guidance Counselor of Saint Paul University of the Philippines, took the floor as the Resource Person. Her lecture focused on deepening the understanding of mental health and providing self-care strategies. Key takeaways encompass prioritizing sleep, regular exercise and a balanced diet, decreasing caffeine and alcohol intake, practicing gratitude, seeking professional help when necessary, among others.

Ms. Hernandez-Umoso also discussed the physiological, psychological, and behavioral impacts of stress and provided essential strategies for recovering from burnout.

She concluded her session by citing a powerful reminder: "When we give ourselves compassion, we are opening our hearts in a way that can transform our lives."

Dangatan, Ph.D; Vice-President for Administration and Finance, Engr. Theresa B. Dimalanta, Ph.D.; Vice-President for Research, Development, Extension and Training Engr. Audry R. Quebral, DPA; Board of Regent (Alumni Representative) Hon. Carmelo O. Villacete; Board of Regent (Private Sector) Hon. Noel T. Veridiano II; University Gender and Development Focal Person Melvin M. Mora, MBA; University Sports Director Assoc. Prof. Giovanni C. Morales, Ph.D; University Director for Special Projects Prof. Charmie S. Calvo, DIT; Director for Research and Development Assoc. Prof. Anderson G. Gonzales, DPA; Chief Administrative Affairs Officer Ramon Henry Peregrino O. Kanapi, MAN; Chief Finance Officer Emerita Geron, Ph.D.; and University Budget Officer Alvin Alisasis.

In addition to the seminar, the morning featured a Tree Growing Activity, spearheaded by OIC Pres. Ibañez, in support of the Greening Program of the National Government, CSU's 45,000 Trees Project, and the University Orchard.

Meanwhile, the celebration and camaraderie continued in the afternoon with various sports competitions. #

Cagayan State University (CSU), thru Gender and Development (GAD) Office, joined the Orientation and Coordination Meeting for the Launch and Relaunch of Childcare Facilities, today, May 7, 2026, via ZOOM. Headed by Romblon State University, this project aimed at promoting "the establishment and strengthening of university-based childcare and family empowerment facilities across State Universities and Colleges and its community."

CSU's involvement in the said event emphasizes its dedication to fostering childcare services and upholding its core value of social responsibility.
