Mula Guidance and Counseling Office tungo sa Care Center ano ang nasa likod ng pagbabago?

Sa ilalim ng RA 12080, nakasaad ang conversion at pagpapalit ng pangalan ng mga existing Guidance and Counseling Offices bilang Care Centers, kasama ang pagpapalakas ng school-based mental health services at pagtugon sa stigma sa counseling.

Pero hindi sapat ang bagong pangalan. Kailangang maramdaman ng bawat learner ang malasakit sa paraan ng ating pakikinig, paggalang sa privacy, at paggabay patungo sa angkop na tulong.

For the interim, the School Head may designate:

For teachers designated as LFO:

The School Head may designate more than one LFO to ensure adequate coverage across:

Grade Levels • Key Stages • Learner Groups

For teachers designated as LFO:

📌 A Designation Order shall be issued.

📌 The concurrence of the concerned teacher/s is required.

📌 The designation is duly signed by the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS).

LFOs without prior experience or relevant training should be provided appropriate capacity-building interventions by the:

• Learner Protection
• Learner Discipline
• Handling of Learner Concerns

All schools shall ensure that an LFO is designated by this date.

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗦𝗕𝗟𝗖)

The SBLC shall generally be assigned the same LFO as the mainstream/regular school system, subject to the conditions stated in the memorandum.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗖𝗟𝗖)

For CLCs and other ALS sites, the Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) shall designate a Division Focal Person as LFO.

On February 27, 2026, the Senior High students of Cagayan National High School gathered for a comprehensive Career Guidance Program centered on mental health, adolescent reproductive health, and drug prevention—reinforcing that career success begins with informed and responsible life choices.

The symposium opened with Renz Marion C. Gavino, who delivered his talk, “Education before Obligation: Building a Strong Future through Smart Choices,” emphasizing the importance of prioritizing education, self-awareness, and long-term goals over impulsive decisions.

This was followed by Renante C. Rosero, who presented “Drug-Free Adolescence: Securing Health and Career for the Future – Ill Effects of Drugs and RA 9165.” His discussion provided critical insights into the physical, psychological, and legal consequences of substance abuse, underscoring the value of discipline and lawful conduct in safeguarding one’s future.

Concluding the program was Gregorio Oscar B. Tumbali Jr. with “Pathways to Public Service: A Career Orientation on PNP Recruitment and Gender-Sensitive Development.” His talk broadened students’ perspectives on careers in public service, highlighting integrity, professionalism, and inclusivity as cornerstones of nation-building.

The symposium concluded with students empowered not only with career direction but also with strengthened awareness of their well-being, affirming that a prosperous future is built on sound choices, personal responsibility, and informed action.

Day 2 of Project CAREER further strengthened its commitment to guiding students toward purposeful and sustainable career paths.

The program commenced with inspiring opening messages from esteemed School Principal 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗮 and District Supervisor 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻, who graced the event and both underscored the value of technical education and encouraged students to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.

Led by the Guidance and Counseling Office of Cagayan National High School – Senior High School, the Career Coaching session for Technical, Vocational, and Livelihood (TVL) students featured 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗜𝗯𝗮𝘆, Provincial Director of TESDA Cagayan, as the resource speaker. He delivered a comprehensive and practical discussion on the diverse career pathways available to TVL graduates, emphasizing industry demand, skills certification, and lifelong employability.

Adding a powerful dimension to the event was the testimonial of TVL alumna 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔. 𝗧𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗼, now a successful Licensed Professional Teacher. Her journey from TVL student to professional licensure was a compelling reminder that technical-vocational education can open doors to diverse and rewarding opportunities.

The Career Talkshow, organized by the Guidance and Counseling Office of Cagayan National High School – Senior High School, successfully provided students with meaningful perspectives on career pathways, higher education, and workforce readiness.

On behalf of the Guidance and Counseling Office, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Ma'am 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗠. 𝗧𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗮, Principal-I of the school, for her unwavering support and guidance for the senior high students of CNHS.
