United for Progress: Balzain East Moves Forward as One
The first quarter Barangay Assembly of Balzain East was more than just an official meeting; it was a powerful reminder of what a community can achieve when it works together. Following the theme "Nagkakaisang Barangay tungo sa Kalinisan, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan, at Kaunlaran," the gathering showed that the path to a better future is a journey we must take side-by-side.
The School: A Partner in Growth
A key highlight of the assembly was the speech by our School Head, Ma’am Aileen C. Ibañez. She shared the inspiring progress of Balzain East Elementary School, focusing on making the campus a better place to learn. From the beautification of the school grounds to the revival of the Gulayan sa Paaralan, the school is physically blooming. Moreover, she explained how the school is teaching children the importance of proper waste disposal, ensuring the youth are active contributors to a cleaner environment.
However, Ma’am Ibañez’s most vital message was about literacy. She spoke about strengthening the school’s Reading Program and made a sincere plea to parents: "Teachers cannot do it alone." She emphasized that for education to truly level up, parents must provide a "proper follow-up" at home. When parents and teachers work together as partners in reading, our children’s futures become much brighter.
Governance and Public Service
The spirit of transparency was also front and center. Barangay officials reported on their achievements in various committees, including peace and order, infrastructure, and budget management. Their reports gave residents a clear look at the projects and programs currently benefiting the community.
LGU representatives Grace Arago and Robert Fuggaban also shared important updates. Ms. Arago reported on various city government projects, while Mr. Fuggaban provided essential data on licensed businesses within the barangay. Adding to this sense of security, acting COP PLTCOL Garry A. Matagay highlighted the strong bond between law enforcement and the barangay, reminding everyone that a safe community is built on trust and unity.
A Success Built on Cooperation
The assembly ended on a high note, not just because of the reports given, but because of the people who showed up. The active participation of the Balzain East community proved that when school leaders, city officials, police officers, and residents share a single vision, progress becomes inevitable.
By the end of the day, one message was clear: Balzain East is a united front. Whether it is through planting seeds in the Gulayan or helping a child read their first sentence, we are all building a cleaner, more peaceful, and more progressive home together.

Keeping our students safe and healthy is always a top priority! 🦟🛡️
Today, Sunday, March 15, 2026 a health activity was conducted at Balzain East Elementary School to keep our learning environment safe and protected!
A big thank you to our Local Government Unit (LGU) through the initiative of the City Health Office (CHO) for bringing the Dengue Prevention and Control Program to our school.
This activity was successfully carried out under the dedicated supervision of our School Head, Ma’am Aileen C. Ibañez, along with Admin Officer Manilyn Laggui and PDO & DRRM Coordinator Claudia Aquino.
By combining indoor spraying and misting, we are taking an "early strike" to stop mosquitoes before they can cause harm, ensuring our learners have a fortified and healthy space to study.
We are truly grateful for the continuous support of our local leaders and health workers in prioritizing the well-being of our school community!
