Good day!
As the pandemic began, several restrictions were implemented, and face-to-face classes were immensely diverted into distance learning. We were confined in our houses and were restricted from doing what we were accustomed to, especially the things we do in face-to-face classes. But, these circumstances should never be a hindrance to learn.
Despite the pandemic, we were able to successfully conduct our webinar with the theme "WebEner-G: Energize your Mind in Chemistry," held last May 04, 2022. With that, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for attending and participating with us.
As a token of gratitude, we would like to present the Certificate of Participation for being with us in exploring the world of energy and electrochemistry. We hope that you learn something new from the event.
See you again next time!

We're back for another Trivia Tuesday!
A battery's chemical processes include the transfer of electrons from one substance (electrode) to another via an external circuit. Electron flow generates an electric current that may be utilized to do work. It generates electrical energy by forcing electrons onto the cathode, making it negatively charged. Electrons are also taken out of the anode, which causes it to become positively charged. An electrochemical process known as the oxidation-reduction reaction is triggered when this occurs. Furthermore, a battery is an electrochemical device, which means it generates electricity through a chemical reaction or uses electrical energy to initiate a chemical reaction.

It's Friday Trivia!
Nourish our minds with additional knowledge for tonight.
Did you know?
Alessandro Volta, in full Conte Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta, (born February 18, 1745, Como, Lombardy [Italy]โdied March 5, 1827, Como), Italian physicist whose invention of the electric battery known as the voltaic pile or the voltaic column provided the first source of continuous current. In only six weeks of Volta's unveiling of his invention, English scientists William Nicholson and Anthony Carlisle used a voltaic pile to break down water into hydrogen and oxygen, having discovered electrolysis (how an electric current causes a chemical reaction) and establishing the field of electrochemistry. The volt (symbol: V) is the unit of electric potential, electric potential difference (voltage), and electromotive force. During his lifetime, Alessandro Volta made significant contributions to the emerging science of electricity. His name was given to the unit of electrical potential, the volt, in honor of his pioneering work.

Itโs Friday Trivia!
Let us fill our minds with new knowledge!
Did you know?
An ideal battery would never run down, produce a stable voltage, and be capable of withstanding environmental extremes of heat and humidity. Real batteries strike a balance between ideal characteristics and practical limitations. For example, the mass of a car battery is about 18 kg or about 1% of the mass of an average car or light-duty truck. This battery would supply nearly unlimited energy if used in a smartphone, but it is not applicable because of its mass. Thus, no single battery is โbest,โ and batteries are selected for a particular application, keeping things like the mass of the battery, its cost, reliability, and current capacity in mind.

It's Trivia Night again!
Albert Einstein once said, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning."
Thus, let's regress in time and unveil the past to learn something new in the present that may be beneficial in the future.
Did you know?
James Prescott Joule studied the nature of heat and established its relationship to mechanical work. He laid the foundation for the theory of conservation of energy, which later influenced the First Law of Thermodynamics. He also formulated the Jouleโs law which deals with the transfer of energy.
His first experiments concerned electric motors with a view to replacing the steam engines in the brewery with electric ones. This led him to discovering โJoules Lawโ in 1840.
He established a relationship between the flow of current through a resistance and the heat generated. Jouleโs law states that the amount of heat per second that develops in a wire carrying a current is proportional to the electrical resistance of the wire and the square of the current.

Hello!! It's Trivia Night!
Do you guys have any idea about what is electrolysis? And who are the founders?Well electrolysis is a technique that uses direct electric current to drive an otherwise non-spontaneous chemical reaction.
Electrolysis is commercially important as a stage in the separation of elements from naturally occurring sources such as ores using an electrolytic cell.
It was founded by two english chemists named William Nicholson and Anthony Carlisle
