Now more than ever, the rampant spread of misinformation has weakened our society. 🤳📱In today’s political climate, in particular, it can be easy to fall victim to them, growing a perspective of "us versus them." However, the reality is that voters are a spectrum of individuals who all have thoughts, fears, dreams, and life experiences that influence their opinions. 💭📝 The reality is that most people have opinions that fall on both sides of the spectrum and that the radicals are few and far in between. 📇 Don’t pay attention to the dividing media or trust that because most people in your party are voting on a topic one way, you should, too. 💡Educate yourself and vote the way that you believe is right.❗️

In line with this, the activity is entitled "𝙐𝙋𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙈𝙚! 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘼𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙨𝙩 𝙐𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙮", which aims to promote quality, fairness, and professionalism amidst the election campaign. 🗳 Furthermore, this serves as an avenue for students to showcase their talent in the field of news writing and deliver them in line with the journalists' code of integrity.📰

💥🗞️ 𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎 𝙁𝙇𝘼𝙎𝙃, 𝙅𝙊𝙐𝙍𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙎! 🗞️💥

In celebration of International Women's Month ♀️, the Journalism Club extends its apprepriation, love, and respect towards women of all race, color, and identity. 💜✨ Through this month-long opportunity, it's only proper to uphold their achievements 👑, recognize challenges, and focus greater attention on women's rights and gender equality. ✊ What better way for a journalist to contribute than to raise awareness 📣 and express their heartfelt gratitude ✍️ all in one!

In light of this, the Journalism Club's third activity is entitled "𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣: 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣," which will take in the form of feature writing. 📰 This will serve as an avenue for students to take part in the celebration 🎊, all the while allowing them to express their creativity through a string of words on pen ✒️ and paper 📝.

Students are expected to submit their works in a PDF file via the Google Drive link below. The deadline is on March 23, 2022, Wednesday.

News with no bias, news with no exception;🗞delivering nothing but the truth.🎤 As journalists, it is second to their nature to seek the truth✅ in the interest of the public's right to know and present them in an honest and unbiased manner.💥 Upholding the journalistic integrity that comes with the power of the pen🖋, they, therefore, ensure that they execute their work responsibly and diligently.📻 At all times, a journalist's responsibility lies in providing an accurate and well-balanced narrative where all sides are covered. 👩🏻‍💼🧑🏻‍💼

Broadcast Journalism 📣 is another field of journalism, which simply aims to nurture the talent of students to express themselves and deliver news through broadcast and reportage, amongst others.🏹 It is a form of mass media that works well as to generate awareness❗️, attract attention🚨, and better yet, appeal to the emotions. 👩🏻‍💻

In line with this, the activity is titled 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙏𝙑: 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙚𝙬𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩. 🎥It serves as an avenue for students to develop their critical thinking skills and empower them to showcase not only their writing skills, 📝but also their voice talents and sapience.🎙

We all know that the month of February is the month of love. As we celebrate this event, we recognize and highlight the importance of Journalism in real-life scenarios. To hone journalistic skills, let us explore new literary formats of artistic expression as well as to promote appreciation of art through photo poetry as a means of expressing love for writing.

Thus, giving the students the opportunity to appreciate and gain love for this modern way of artistic expression.

The contested activity is entitled “𝑨 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝑭𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒚: 𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑨𝒓𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒐𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒚” which simply aims to promote the sense of appreciation and expression of love for the month. This activity serves as an avenue for students to showcase their talent in photo poetry.

As a community joined by words, we, journalists, are rays of light in our own right. ☀️ In the work of our hands lies the ability to progressively make a difference that cannot just be seen nor heard but felt. This year, we set our sights on burning bright. 🔥

Equipped with a pen and paper, a journalist is driven by an unyielding curiosity to get to the bottom of situations and deliver the best of both worlds. As a community that builds its power through words and structure, it strives to complete its mission of providing information to the public while remaining true to its values of integrity and reliability.

Here, in the Journalism Club, we aim to bring students of all writing abilities together, providing each and every creative soul an opportunity to write, share their ideas, and embrace their individuality. What is more, it empowers student-journalists to cultivate a positive attitude and grow a sense of appreciation towards their works and that of fellow student-journalists.

The Journalism Club promotes a platform that embodies self-expression and artful craftsmanship beyond the physical state of words and pictures while exploring the passion and potential of each and every student in its grasp.
