In line with the universityโ€™s thrust toward excellence, CTU โ€“ Tuburan Campus recently underwent its Internal Quality Audit (IQA) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. On August 24, 2026, the audit team and campus auditees convened at the Hometel, where they were welcomed by Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita, whose opening remarks set a collaborative and improvement-oriented tone for the quality assurance exercise.

Campus Dean of Instruction Dr. Rowena Abaquita formally introduced the CTU Tuburan auditees, while Ms. Melannie Fortuna, IQA Team Leader, presented the members of the audit team. The IQA panel was composed of esteemed heads of offices and Quality Assurance (QA) officers from across the university. Distinguished auditors included Dr. Nemia Zamora, Dr. Donna Marie Rivero, Dr. Christian Ray Licen, Ms. Charmaine Lee Cabrera, Mr. Joebert Monacillo, Dr. Imelda Villarin, Mr. Johannes Camasura, Dr. Bonifacio Amper Jr., Ms. Maria Naina Gillamac, Mrs. Felicidad Hiramis, Dr. Rhyan Jay Signe, and Mrs. Morena Carlos.

Following a comprehensive evaluation and excellence-focused consultations, the audit concluded with the presentation of findings by the IQA team. In response, Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita reaffirmed CTU Tuburanโ€™s commitment to addressing observations, implementing corrective actions, and sustaining continuous improvement in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Through this process, CTU Tuburan continues to demonstrate its dedication to quality education and institutional excellence, strengthening its Quality Management System to better serve students, staff, and stakeholders.

A groovy end to the week-long Week of Welcome 2026, CTU Tuburan and Tabuelan lit up the dance floor of friendship and new connections through the Acquaintance Program 2026. On the afternoon of August 20, department booths glowed, speakers pulsed, and the disco fever of the program reached its peak as the theme โ€œA reDISCOvery: Awakening the Groove, Owning the New Academic Year, Building Connectionsโ€ came to life.

New and continuing Technologists filled the grounds with high-energy cheers and nostalgic dance moves to golden hits, while the sparkle of the disco ball set the mood for an afternoon of celebration. The program featured lively performances and presentations, highlighted by inspirational messages from campus officials that underscored the spirit of unity and belonging.

Making the event even more meaningful was the induction of new student organization officers, who pledged to lead their groups with purpose and service. True to its theme, the Acquaintance Program 2026 reaffirmed that Technologists will always have a home at CTU Tuburan and Tabuelan, where every groove leads to connection, and every connection builds community.

On the morning of August 17, 2026, the CTU Tabuelan Extension Campus was filled with joyful greetings and enthusiastic smiles as it held the opening program of Week of Welcome (WOW) 2026 at the campus covered court.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from the Campus Dean of Instruction, Dr. Rowena Abaquita, who greeted both new and continuing students and set the tone for the opening of the new academic year.

Dr. Jleian Mard Loseรฑara, Chairperson of Information, Communication, and Public Affairs (ICPA), provided the students with an overview of the universityโ€™s Vision, Mission, and Goals (VMG), orienting them on CTUโ€™s aspiration to become a premier university in Asia.

Further inspiring everyone in attendance, Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita shared an inspirational message, challenging the students to become the best versions of themselves as they pursue their college education. She emphasized the importance of being innovative, inclusive, and internationally at par. Dr. Abaquita also introduced the key officials of the Tabuelan Campus.

The students were likewise introduced to the teaching force of the Tabuelan Campus by the respective department chairpersons.

A turnover ceremony between the outgoing and incoming Supreme Student Government (SSG) officers of the Tabuelan Campus was also held in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Maria Leni Torralba and the SSG of CTU Tuburan. On behalf of the outgoing officers, SSG President Hon. Mitch Guinita delivered a message, while the incoming officers were formally recognized through a ceremony facilitated by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). Led by SSG Tabuelan President Hon. Geobert Fajardo, the newly elected officers expressed their commitment to serving the student body. Dr. Torralba formally closed the program, marking the beginning of a promising and hope-filled academic year for the CTU Tabuelan community.

The Bulawanong Tinubdan Dance Company (BTDC) energized the event with an ecstatic disco dance performance that brought the students to their feet and filled the dance floor with excitement. The program concluded with a solidarity dance, underscoring the unity and camaraderie of the CTU Tabuelan community.

The new academic year has officially begun at Cebu Technological University (CTU) Tuburan as the campus warmly welcomed new and continuing students during the kickoff program of the Week of Welcome (WOW) 2026 on August 13, 2026.

The campus was filled with warm greetings, familiar faces, and renewed enthusiasm as students, faculty, and staff gathered to celebrate the beginning of another academic journey.

The opening activities commenced with the ceremonial flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, led by the BT Harmony Collective, in front of the campus library. This was followed by an opening prayer, the ASEAN Hymn, and the CTU Hymn.

The main program was held at the campus covered court, where Campus Dean of Instruction Dr. Rowena Abaquita warmly welcomed the attendees. The newly elected officers of the Supreme Student Government (SSG) were then introduced to the student body by their adviser, Engr. Aea Georgette Yamson. SSG President Hon. Matthew Ervin Acaso followed with a presentation of the guidelines for the WOW and 2026 Acquaintance Program.

Dr. Jleian Mard Loseรฑara, ICPA chairperson, presented the universityโ€™s Vision, Mission, and Goals (VMG). While the presentation primarily aimed to orient freshmen, it also gave students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to become more familiar with the universityโ€™s new VMG.

The campusโ€™s key personnel and administrative staff were introduced by HR Officer Ms. Cristy Xilde Amancio. This was followed by a Gender and Development (GAD) orientation facilitated by its chairperson, Ms. Virnalyn Porte.

Adding inspiration to the occasion, Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Abaquita delivered a meaningful message to the attendees, encouraging them to embrace the opportunities and challenges that come with the new academic year.

Faculty members were warmly introduced by their respective college deans, giving students the opportunity to become familiar with the instructors who will guide and support them throughout the academic year.

The program was further enlivened by the Bulawanong Tinubdan Dance Company (BTDC), whose dynamic performance energized the audience and added color to the celebration.

After the closing remarks delivered by Assistant Campus Director Dr. Maria Leni Torralba, the BTDC, led by Campus Cultural Director Dr. Ingersol Ed Guias, facilitated a solidarity dance that brought the attendees together in a spirit of unity and camaraderie.

In the afternoon, the SSG facilitated a series of engaging Getting-to-Know-You (GTKY) activities, giving students an opportunity to connect, build friendships, and foster camaraderie.

The WOW 2026 kickoff program marked a reDISCOvery beginning to a weeklong lineup of activities designed to welcome, orient, and engage both new and continuing students of CTU Tuburan.
