March 31, 2026, marked the successful closing program of CebuTech Tuburan’s National Women’s Month Celebration. The month-long event featured various competitions and activities aligned with the theme “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!” Among the event highlights were student and employee activities such as mural painting, digital storytelling, poster-making, Musika-Juan-a, pamper and health services, and seminar-workshops facilitated by invited experts.

CebuTech Tuburan successfully held one of the highlights of its First Non‑Teaching Summit on March 4, 2026. With the theme “LEVEL UP: Empowering Non‑Teaching Personnel towards Gender‑Responsive and Ethical Public Service,” the event gathered the campus’s non‑teaching personnel, who took part in a series of insightful sessions. Designed to empower non-teaching personnel, the day’s sessions featured talks on Basic Policies and Reminders from the Human Resources Management Office (HRMO), Basic Records Management, the 5S Method: A Workplace Organization Technique, and Digital Etiquette and Data Privacy in Government Work, delivered by resource persons Assistant Prof. Catherine Loseñara, Dr. Johnrel Paglinawan, and Dr. Jleian Mard Loseñara.

The summit features significant sessions and workshops, including a session led by invited resource speakers, team‑building activities, Gender and Development (GAD) planning and budget allocation, a Non‑Teaching General Assembly, and many other activities.

CebuTech Tuburan officially launched its 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration—under the theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”—with an opening program on the morning of March 2, 2026.

Faculty, non-teaching staff, and students gathered to highlight commitments to gender equity and empowered leadership. Among the highlights of the kickoff program were empowering messages from key campus officials and the recognition of selected women leaders at CebuTech Tuburan with plaques.

The celebration throughout March features competitions such as mural painting, on-the-spot poster-making, digital storytelling, and Musika Juan-a. It also includes health empowerment through education campaigns with seminars on HIV awareness, reproductive health, breast cancer awareness, and women’s workplace leadership. A pamper day is planned, alongside essential services such as medical consultations, dental check-ups, and pap smears.

𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔: 𝑪𝑶𝑫𝑰 & 𝑮𝑨𝑫 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒓’𝒔 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈

A comprehensive three-day Trainor’s Training was recently held from February 25-27, 2026, organized by CebuTech Tuburan’s Gender and Development (GAD) Office. Titled “Strengthening Institutional Safeguards and Inclusive Governance,” the program empowered CODI Members, DOI, GAD Coordinators, and PWD Coordinators with essential skills for ethical leadership and inclusive campus practices.

Day 1 of Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) training at the Campus Hometel, themed “Upholding Dignity and Accountability: Strengthening CODI Systems and Processes,” featured sessions led by Atty. Orville T. Dela Cerna covers mandate overviews, case handling, investigation flowcharts, and report templates. The event equipped participants with vital skills, reinforcing the campus’s commitment to ethical, accountable environments.

Days 2 and 3 of the training, at Chona Beach Resort, Antipolo, Tuburan, themed “Gender-Responsive and Disability-Inclusive Planning in Higher Education,” featured sessions led by Dr. Mary Jane C. Sim (UD-GAD) and Engr. Teresita Capin (GAD Chair – Main Campus). Gender and Development Plan and Budget (GPB) 2026 planning workshops produced draft GAD/PWD annual plans, unit-level issue identification, training templates, M&E strategies, accomplishment reports, and output presentations, advancing inclusive, gender-responsive campus planning at CebuTech Tuburan.

The training advanced CebuTech Tuburan’s commitment to dignity, accountability, and gender-responsive planning.

(VAWC), marking the culmination of a comprehensive university effort to promote awareness and foster a violence-free community under the theme “UNiTEd for a VAW-Free Philippines.”

The campaign, which was launched on November 25, 2025, engaged both employees and students in a series of meaningful activities designed to address gender-based violence through education, empowerment, and community mobilization.

Throughout the 18-day period, the campaign featured VAW-free-centered competitions, including a VAW Advocacy Video Contest and a Safe Selfie Booth. The culmination program included insightful sessions conducted by invited resource persons, including esteemed psychologists who provided expert perspectives on violence against women, exploring the psychological dimensions of gender-based violence, its impacts on victims and communities, and pathways toward healing and prevention.

CebuTech Tuburan employees and students participated in the launch of the 2025 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAWC) under the theme "UNiTEd for a VAW-Free Philippines" on November 25, 2025.

The launch began with a Zumba Fitness for VAWC Awareness Campaign led by instructor Mr. Meloc Amor Delos Santos. Participants wore orange, the campaign's signature color, in a demonstration against gender-based violence.

The program opened with a Prayer to End Violence Against Women, followed by the "All Women Cast Lupang Hinirang," the Bagong Pilipinas hymn, the ASEAN Hymn, and the Sugbo Hymn.

Ms. Cristy Xilde Amancio, HRMO, delivered the opening remarks, welcoming participants and emphasizing the 18-day campaign's purpose: to raise awareness and mobilize the community toward a VAW-free environment.

Dr. Ingersol Ed Guias, GAD Coordinator, introduced the next session focusing on practical empowerment. Prof. Vincent I. Caballes then conducted Self-Defense training, guiding participants through techniques to build personal safety skills and confidence.

The launch demonstrated the CTU community's commitment to achieving a VAW-Free Philippines through partnership and empowerment.

LOOK | CTU extends Psychological First Aid to Tuburan and Tabuelan Campuses after Northern Cebu Quake

Following the recent earthquake that struck northern Cebu, Cebu Technological University (CTU) extended its Psychological First Aid (PFA) program to students and employees from the Tuburan and Tabuelan campuses on October 17, 2025, as part of the university’s ongoing psychosocial support efforts for affected communities.

Held at CTU Tuburan, the initiative created a nurturing space for individuals to reflect, recover, and regain emotional stability, with a total of 91 participants, including 62 employees, 25 students, and 4 children joining the session.
