EARTHQUAKE ADVISORY

Classes and work in all modalities across Cebu Technological University (CTU) campuses are suspended starting October 1, 2025, until further notice as the University’s Planning and Development Office continues to assess the status of our buildings and possible damage following the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu.

Everyone is advised to stay safe and alert. Further announcements will be posted on this page.

Tuburan, Cebu -- The Cebu Technological University – Tuburan Campus College of Engineering has officially completed its compliance journey with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) program secured its Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) on September 8, 2025.

The approval of the BSIE COPC marks the final step in the College of Engineering’s full alignment with CHED standards. It follows the earlier recognition of three other flagship programs - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) - which were declared compliant last September 2, 2025.

CHED’s issuance of the COPC certifies that the BSIE curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and support systems met the minimum standards, ensuring students are equipped with industry-relevant training and global competencies.

For CTU Tuburan Campus, the full COPC status of its engineering programs is both a culmination and a beginning that affirm years of preparation and signaling new opportunities for academic growth, industry partnerships, and regional impact.

With all four engineering programs now CHED compliant, the campus stands as a growing stronghold of engineering education in northern Cebu, ready to advance its mission of producing competent, innovative, and ethical engineers for the nation.

Tuburan, Cebu — The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Tuburan Campus marked a milestone today as its engineering programs — Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering — were officially declared CHED compliant following the approval and release of the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) last September 2, 2025.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granted the COPC after rigorous evaluation of the programs’ curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and alignment with national standards for engineering education. This recognition affirms that CTU Tuburan’s BSCE, BSEE and BSME programs have met the quality requirements set by CHED for higher education institutions.

With CHED compliance secured, graduates of the programs are assured of the credibility and recognition of their degrees, strengthening their opportunities for licensure examinations in the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and employment. It also boosts CTU Tuburan’s position as a growing hub for engineering education in northern Cebu.

The release of the COPC marks a significant step in the continuous development of the campus, as it strives to uphold excellence in instruction, research, and community extension service.
