📢 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE RESUMPTION OF CLASSES TO SECONDARY & ELEMENTARY LEVEL IN PRIVATE & PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TUBURAN, CEBU
Following the impact of Typhoon Tino and Uwan, as well as the ongoing aftershocks from the 6.9-magnitude earthquake last September 30, 2025, the safety of our learners, teachers, and school personnel remains our utmost priority. At the same time, we recognize that continuous learning is essential for all students.
The LGU-Tuburan, headed by Mayor Christian Daniel Diamante, convened a special meeting to discuss the resumption of classes in the municipality. Through the guidance of MDRRM Officer Engr. Richard Hernandez, together with the Public School District Supervisors and School Heads of DepEd–Tuburan Districts 1 & 2, a consultation meeting was held, and the following agreements were reached:
Guidelines for the Resumption of Face-to-Face Classes
1. Public Schools
o Before the resumption of the Face-to-Face classes, the school principal is hereby required to secure consent from the parents of their learners through the conduct of PTA Consultation. This is to ensure that the resumption came from the consensus of the parents, teachers, school principals and other stakeholders in education sector.
o Face-to-face classes may only resume upon securing a clearance from the Municipal Engineering Office based on the integrity of their school buildings.
o Schools must strictly follow their approved School Learning and Service Continuity Plan (LSCP).
2. Private Schools
o Private institutions are authorized to determine their preferred mode of learning—face-to-face, blended, or online—based on their readiness and safety conditions.
3. Alternative Mode of Learning
o If the required reports or clearances have not yet been submitted, classes will continue through Alternative Modes of Learning until compliance is completed.
Let us continue to uphold the principle: “Safety first, learning always.”
We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and prayerful as we seek protection, recovery, and healing for our community.
