2TG Joins the Nation in Celebrating IHL Month

The 2nd Training Group, Education and Training Command, Philippine Army proudly joined the nation in celebrating International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month through a simultaneous flag-raising ceremony.

With the theme, “Pinalakas na Ugnayan at Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng IHL,” the activity reaffirmed the unit's commitment to promoting respect for human dignity, protecting civilians, and upholding the principles of International Humanitarian Law.

Together, we continue to foster awareness, strengthen unity, and uphold peace.

NCO Leadership in Action: Command Sergeant Major Checks Troops' Morale and Welfare

Committed to strengthening leadership and ensuring the well-being of every soldier, the Command Sergeant Major of the Education and Training Command, Philippine Army, conducted a morale and welfare visit to the 2nd Training Group. The visit provided an opportunity to engage with personnel, assess their welfare, address concerns, and reinforce the unit's commitment to mission readiness, discipline, and teamwork.

During the visit, the unit also presented its compliance reports and highlighted significant accomplishments, particularly the enhanced NCO Empowerment Activities under the unit's NCO LEAD Program.

These initiatives continue to strengthen Non-Commissioned Officers' Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Authority, and Decision-Making, reflecting the unit's commitment to developing competent and mission-focused NCO leaders. The Command Sergeant Major commended the program and recognized its positive contribution to the professional growth of the Corps of Non-Commissioned Officers.

Training with Purpose: Nurturing Faith, Character, and Values

Monsignor Harold Anthony S. Perilla, Parish Priest of Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish, visited the 2TG at Brgy. Macaas, Tubigon, Bohol. During the visit, the leadership of Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish and the 2TG discussed initiatives aimed at strengthening the spiritual, values, and character development of Army personnel.

The meaningful engagement underscored the vital role of spiritual guidance and character formation in fostering trust by aligning individual identity, organizational climate, and unit culture with the Philippine Army's core values of honor, patriotism, and duty.

By reinforcing moral and ethical principles and cultivating them into daily habits, our soldiers are better equipped to make sound decisions, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, and do what is right—even in the most challenging situations.

City Savings Bank Supports 2TG Health and Wellness Efforts

Camp Chatto Training Area | The 2nd Training Group, Education and Training Command, Philippine Army extends its sincere appreciation to City Savings Bank for the generous donation of one (1) treadmill in support of the unit's Health and Wellness Program.

The donated treadmill will be a valuable addition to the unit's mini gym, which is currently under construction at Camp Chatto Training Area. Once completed, the facility will serve as a dedicated venue for promoting physical fitness, overall well-being, and a healthy lifestyle among our personnel and students.

This generous contribution reflects our shared commitment to building a healthier, stronger, and more resilient workforce.

Physical readiness is a command policy and a top unit priority. Strict adherence to the Individual Physical Readiness Training (IPRT) Program ensures that all personnel maintain a high level of fitness and operational readiness.

The program includes upper body and core exercises, as well as conditioning runs conducted twice a week, while endurance runs for 7km, 15km, & 21km are held once a month. The intensity and number of repetitions are adjusted according to the individual's age and fitness level. In addition, various sports activities are conducted during every athletic period to promote teamwork, uphold health and fitness standards, and enhance overall well-being.

These activities are designed to develop strength, improve endurance, and maintain the high level of physical readiness required to sustain the unit's day-to-day operations and accomplish its mission effectively.

Strengthening Civil-Military Partnership for a Safer Community

Earlier today, Colonel Sonny E. Gonzales, Group Commander of the 2nd Training Group, ETC, PA, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Benjie S. Olivia, Municipal Mayor of Catigbian, Bohol.

The visit reaffirmed the military's unwavering commitment to civilian supremacy and strengthened coordination with the local government unit. During the meeting, both leaders discussed key matters concerning peace and order, disaster preparedness and response, and collaborative community development initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of the community.

Through this continued partnership, the 2nd Training Group and the LGU of Catigbian remain united in their commitment to fostering a safe, peaceful, and progressive environment for the people of Catigbian and the military training institution.

Strengthening Ties to Build a Credible Reserve Force

Camp Lapulapu, Barangay Apas, Cebu — The leadership of the 2nd Training Group, headed by Colonel Sonny E. Gonzales, paid a courtesy visit to the 7th Regional Community Defense Group, RESCOM, PA, where they were warmly welcomed by Team Laang Kawal led by Colonel Ricky N. Parcon, Group Commander of the 7RCDG.

The visit served as a venue to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening the country's reserve force and enhancing collaboration between the two units. Among the key topics discussed were the integration of reservists into the unit's Combined Arms Practical Exercise (CAPEX), the conduct of Tabletop Exercises focusing on wartime scenarios, commitments to Reserve Force Development, and the implementation and support of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program.

The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of both units to foster a capable, responsive, and credible reserve force that is prepared to support the Philippine Army's mission of national defense and security.
