Before the first note of Lupang Hinirang was heard, we took a moment to bring a piece of our history to life.

Through the portrayal of women who endured abuse, the KKK’s cry during the Cry of Pugad Lawin, and Sisa’s search for her sons, Basilio and Crispin, we brought important stories from Philippine history to life.

As the performance ended, Lupang Hinirang began to play, a reminder that behind the anthem we proudly sing is a history shaped by the sacrifices and struggles of our people.
