In light of the recent shooting incident reported in the country, we wish to remind all members of the university of the following safety measures:
• All university personnel and students shall wear their official VSU IDs at all times while inside the campus and use designated entrances and exits only.
• Security and Safety Services Office (SSSO) personnel are authorized to conduct reasonable inspections of bags, backpacks, parcels, and other personal belongings at designated entry points and during random security checks within the campus.
• All visitors, guests, suppliers, and service providers shall be required to log and present valid identification prior to entry into University premises.
• Everyone is encouraged to immediately report any suspicious behavior, unattended packages, threats, prohibited items, or other security concerns to the nearest security personnel or University officials.
• The bringing of fi****ms, explosives, bladed weapons, and other dangerous items into University premises remains strictly prohibited, except for authorized law enforcement personnel performing official duties.
We also urge everyone to avoid sharing or amplifying unverified information, particularly content that may cause unnecessary alarm. Instead, rely on official university channels for verified information and announcements.
Your safety is a shared responsibility. Let us remain calm, vigilant, and united in keeping VSU Tolosa a safe environment for everyone.
