ICYMI | NSTP enrollment conducted today, 17 August 2024

Today marks the first meeting of the NSTP students at the Gymnatorium. In this meeting, students from the CTEAS and CFAS students were enrolled to either ROTC, CWTS, or LTS. Recruited ROTC students have identified themselves as members in either Sponsors, Sponsoras, Band, Medics, and Basic Cadet/Cadette.

ICYMI | NSTP-LTS of VSU Tolosa concluded the off-campus activity through a simple culminating program in each selected barangay.

Today, 11th of April 2024, the LTS students Batch 2024 conducted a simple culminating activity at their designated barangay. In this program, certificates and tokens were distributed to the recipients as a token of appreciation for their full participation and support. Also, a simple token was given by the LTS students to the Elementary School, Child Development Worker, and the Barangay for accepting and allowing the LTS Students to do off-campus activity.

On behalf of the LTS Students and NSTP Office of VSU Tolosa, the LTS instructor, Mr. Anthony Macapugas, would like to express his warm greetings and appreciation to the School Heads of Telegrafo Elementary School of Brgy. Telegrafo, Tolosa, Leyte and Alegre Elementary School of Brgy. Alegre, Dulag, Leyte; Child Development Workers of Brgy. Bislig, Tanauan, Leyte and Brgy. Sabang Daguitan, Dulag, Leyte; and the Barangay Chairman of Brgy. Telegrafo, Tolosa, Leyte, Brgy. Bislig, Tanauan, Leyte, Brgy. Alegre and Brgy. Sabang Daguitan of Dulag, Leyte. Also, he would like to send appreciation to the parents of the participating children. Your support to this LTS Off-Campus Activity, helped a lot in making this a realization and success.

ICYMI: NSTPs' Off-Campus Activities 2024

Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) of National Service Training Program (NSTP) aims to promote civic welfare to a community, while Literacy Training Service (LTS) aims to help develop literacies among the children, youth, and out-of-school youth in a community. With this in vision, the VSU NSTP unit aligns its activities on attaining these purposes.

With the support from the Barangay Officials headed by the Barangay Chairperson, Barangay Child Development Workers and School Heads, the NSTP classes, CWTS and LTS, started its off-campus activity on March 23, 2024, Saturday.

Each component has a different path to undertake. CWTS students kick-off the off-campus activity through a gift-giving to their selected barangay and beneficiaries. Through the leadership of Mr. Arnold Ty, CWTS instructor, this activity was made possible. The students planned and prepared all necessary things to consider in conducting the activity.

While, LTS students, led by Mr. Anthony Macapugas, and with the help of the CDW and School Heads, successfully conducted its first day off-campus activity which aims to develop literacies among the children from the selected barangays. CDW or School Head identified the skills to focus on in this activity. LTS students planned different activities in making their teaching activities become successful.

NSTP unit would like to thanks to the support given by the Brgy. Officials, Brgy. CDW and School Head to our students in making our first day off-campus activity a success.

VSU Tolosa NSTP (CWTS, LTS, ROTC) joins the nation on the celebration of the Annual Community Development Day and Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan (KALINISAN) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through a "Barangay Clean-up Day" on 06 January 2024.

This activity aims to inspire the value of bayanihan through voluntary community-based cleaning within barangays and take part in providing a healthy and safe environment for Filipinos.

ICYDK | Drugs are everywhere. Thus, as a citizen, we must know what these are, where these are, and how we can avoid them. This morning, Mr. Arnel Agrava, a faculty from the College of Criminal Justice Education, presented these to VSU Tolosa NSTP CWTS LTS students at the Multi-Purpose Hall as he discussed on Drug Education.

On behalf of the NSTP Head, we would like to thank Mr. Agrava for sharing his expertise with our CWTS & LTS students.

Today, Dr. Rose Ann Aguja (NSTP Head) had a chance to meet again with the NSTP students. However, due to bad weather, the meeting happened virtually. This meeting aims to help NSTP students understand more concepts related to the NSTP Act of 2001 where Dr. Aguja served as the resource person in this talk.

Almost 130 NSTP students attended the meeting. Attendance was checked via Google Form.
