Every January, Zero Waste Month is observed in compliance with Presidential Proclamation No. 760, s. 2014 supplements RA 9003, s. 2021 with the subject "Sustainable Waste Management for Livable Communities." Alternatively referred to as the "Ecological Solid Waste Management Act 2000". This activity's primary goals are to encourage cleanliness and lessen our influence on the climate.

As stated in DepEd Memorandum No. 69, s.2023, the Malasibog Integrated School Youth for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O Elementary and Secondary) together with the SELG, SSLG, faculty and staff, prepared and led the successful launch of the DepEd's Project named "DepEd's 236,000 Trees - A Christmas Gift for the Children," which embraced a green revolution of environmental stewardship.
