On 16 August 2026, the Lyceum Technological College Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Unit successfully conducted 1st Training Day at the Lyceum Technological College Parade Ground in Lusacan Tiaong, Quezon. The activity was led by Maj Arcadio C. Descallar PA (RES) Assistant Commandant with Msg Marlon Isabedra PA (RES),Sgt Edmar U. Malaca PA (RES),Sgt June Mark Christian B. Aler PA (RES),Sgt Niรฑa Veronica C Salvatus PA (RES),Pvt Wowie A Abulencia PA (RES),Pvt Arron D Paham PA (RES),Pvt John Rey G Roy PA (RES),Pvt Hans Justine A Paรฑoso PA (RES),Pvt Bincent I Balana PA (RES),Pvt Kim Sombilla PA (RES),Pvt Princess Mae Salazar PA (RES),Pvt Macy R Macalindong PA (RES),Pvt Mhae Jhean Cadavid PA (RES) and Pvt Love Kyla Lontoc PA (RES).The cadets and cadettes together with the Training Staff and Graduate Military Assistance (GMA), worked to strengthen discipline, coordination, knowledge, and teamwork.
1st Training Day in the Morning The formation started at 0800H. Orientation began smoothly, followed by attendance and the entrance of colors. Maj. Arcadio C Descallar PA (RES) gave opening remarks, reminding cadets that attendance is the most important and most difficult part of training. He explained grading, merits, demerits, and proper bearing, stressing that cadets must not be absent because discipline is essential. Sgt. Edmar U Malaca PA (RES) and Msg. Marlon Isabedra PA (RES) also gave reminders about proper conduct. Afterward, cadets were taught exercises and basic drills by assigned ROTC officers. Attendance was checked again before dismissal. At 1200H, morning activities ended and cadets had lunch.
At 1300H in the afternoon, cadets and cadettes returned for lectures. The 1st and 2nd Battalions went to their classrooms for sessions on the Physical Organization of the Cadet Corps, Course Orientation, and Military Orientation. Lectures were conducted by Msg. Marlon Isabedra PA (RES), assisted by Sgt. Edmar U Malaca PA (RES), Sgt. June Mark Christian B Aler PA (RES) and Pvt. John Rey G Roy PA (RES). Topics included the organization of squads, platoons, and companies, the chain of command, and the core values of honor, duty, and patriotism.
Cadets and cadettes interested in becoming Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), officers were separated for height screening and then wrote and answer essays with 3 question and answer each requiring 3-5 sentences or more. Before dismissal, cadets cleaned the area and collected trash. The day ended at 1600H.
Overall, The training strengthened cadets discipline, coordination, and teamwork. It also gave them a stronger foundation of knowledge and skills. Under the guidance of the Training Staff, all activities were well organized and effective. The result was the growth of student leaders who are responsible, service oriented, and ready to serve others.
