𝑹𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒂𝒚, observed every 𝐷𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝟹𝟶, traces its beginnings to 1898 when President Emilio Aguinaldo declared it a national day of mourning. It was set apart to honor Dr. José Rizal and the many martyrs who endured oppression under Spanish colonial rule. Rizal, a nationalist, writer, and reformist, played a vital role in awakening the Filipino spirit toward freedom.

Rizal’s ex*****on on December 30, 1896, became a defining moment that fueled the Philippine Revolution. Today, we remember his courage, his passion for truth, and his lifelong pursuit of justice and equality for the Filipino people.

May we be encouraged to live out our faith with purpose by loving others and working for the good of our nation, following Christ’s example.
