Seventy seven (77) years ago, the Charter of the United Nations was ratified and entered into force. From the ashes of World War II, the United Nations Organization was founded with the desired goals to establish international peace and security and to develop international cooperation and friendly relations between and among the nations.
The Philippines is one of the original members and signatories of the Charter of the United Nations. One of the founding leaders of this international organization, Major General Carlos Romulo made historic contributions to the United Nations when he became the first Filipino and Asian president of the Fourth Session of the General Assembly (20 September 1949 - 30 June 1950).
Many Filipinos followed Romuloโs footsteps in global diplomacy and international cooperation. You can be the next! Learn more about the world. Join the Bedan International Relations Organization.
Happy United Nations Day, diplomats-in-the-making!

History must never be forgotten.
On this day, March 24, let us stand with Argentina on their Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice. The day marks the anniversary of the beginning of state terrorism, in which President Isabel Peron was overthrown.
At present, Argentinians continue to make their voices heard, actively bringing awareness to the human rights violations that occurred during the time.

On this day, March 1, we commemorate South Korean Movement Day to remember the movement efforts by the Korean people to gain independence from Japan and the lives that were lost in the process.

In public international law, every state is coequal with other states, regardless of size or might. Territorial stability holds that one state cannot take possession of a territory that rightfully belongs to another sovereign state unless there is consent from the latter. The force of international law, customs, and morals does not support the idea that โmight makes right.โ Adherence to established rules and norms ensures international and regional peace, stability, and security.
Sometimes, when faced with serious issues like war, few words can suffice when images of the realities of war abound and speak to us.
On behalf of the Bedan International Relations Organizations, we pour our hearts, prayers, and support to the people of Ukraine and to those that are affected by the conflict.
