APRIL is the month to celebrate the planet earth. April 22nd will be International Earth Day. Our Chapter will be conducting a Tree Planting Program in Legazpi City on April 21 (Sunday) This is in close coordination and supervision of DENR-PENRO Albay and in cooperation with our industrial partner NEWMARKET LINK. We invite members, colleagues, families and friends in Bicol to converge at DENR-PENRO office at Lapu-Lapu St, Legazpi City (next to the post office) at 3pm. Kindly PM me or any PCR-SL officer through SMS, Viber or Messenger for those who wish to participate in this relevant action to celebrate International Earth Day. Let's all do our part to heal our fragile planet.

To all Members of the Philippine College of Radiology

This is in reference to a recalibration of our reading of scoliosis on chest X-ray studies. Scoliosis is defined as a lateral spine curvature with a Cobb’s angle of 10 Degree or more. Based on this definition a chest X-ray with spinal curvature of less than 10 degree should not be reported as scoliosis of the thoracic spine. Please report as Normal Chest should there be no other significant findings.
We have noted an increasing number of request for Orthopedic clearance from job applicants with reports of scoliosis of the thoracic spine on routine job application chest X-rays. Very often the scoliosis is less than 10 degrees. So as Radiologist, left us do our share of helping, and not to add an additional cost on the filipino workforce, entering the job market. Label all thoracic spine curvature less than 10 degree as normal thoracic spine.
