First Round of Focused Classroom Observation Conducted at Rosario Quesada INHS

As part of the school's continuing efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning, the first round of focused classroom observations for TERM 1, SY 2026-2027 was conducted from July 15 to 27, 2026. The instructional supervision and coaching activities centered on the teaching practices of Career Stage 1 and Career Stage 2 teachers, particularly in the design, selection, organization, and utilization of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies aligned with curriculum requirements.
The observations specifically examined the effectiveness of teachers' formative assessment practices, ensuring that these were aligned with the learning objectives of each lesson, the prescribed learning competencies, and the curriculum standards. In addition, considering that teachers had previously undergone orientation on the Science of Learning (SoL), the Technical Assistance Providers closely examined how SoL principles were intentionally and strategically integrated into formative assessment activities to enhance learner engagement and achievement.
Among the Science of Learning (SoL) principles observed to be most frequently integrated into classroom instruction were retrieval practice to activate and reinforce prior knowledge, the provision of timely and specific feedback to support learning progress, opportunities for learner reflection, and activities that promoted active thinking and meaningful engagement with the lesson content.
A total of 16 out of 16 (100%) Career Stage 1 teachers and 2 out of 2 (100%) Career Stage 2 teachers were observed during the period. Following each classroom observation, teachers participated in post-observation conferences where individualized technical assistance, coaching, and professional feedback were provided.
The focused classroom observations and coaching sessions were conducted by Dr. Luzviminda E. Saludares, Master Teacher II; Mr. Rempson P. Sumilang, School Principal I; and Mr. Adrian D. Maano, Head Teacher III. Through this initiative, the school reaffirms its commitment to strengthening instructional practices and supporting teachers in delivering meaningful, standards-based, and learner-centered instruction.
