INSET 2026: EMPOWERING TEACHERS FOR SAFE, EVIDENCE-INFORMED, AND DEEPER LEARNING: Child Protection Policy, Science of Learning, ILAW Lesson Planning, and HOTS-SOLO Framework
Day 1: DepEd Child Protection Policy and Science of Learning(September 10, 2026)
The first half is on the DepEd Child Protection Policy, where teachers are taught what they cannot do, their responsibilities in protecting the students, how to use positive discipline, and how to deal with issues according to school policies. The afternoon
turns to the science of learning and its classroom implications, such as prior knowledge, attention, working memory, cognitive load, retrieval practice, spacing, feedback, and metacognition. Then these are applied to help plan the school’s ILAW lesson plan. The ILAW format is considered as a local lesson planning framework and is in line with DepEd’s lesson preparation policy rather than being presented as a nationally prescribed DepEd format
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our dedicated facilitators for sharing their expertise and inspiring our teachers:
🌟 Mrs. Loregen C. Gapasangra, Teacher III
🌟 Mrs. Kristine A. Plasuelo, Teacher III
🌟 Mrs. Chessette O. Pagana, Master Teacher I
🌟 Mrs. Leanne O. Pornela, Teacher III
The training was actively participated in by our Key Stage 1 and 2 Teachers, and LSA Teacher, who continue to embrace lifelong learning and strive to provide meaningful and effective assessment experiences for every learner.
Together, we continue to empower educators, enhance teaching practices, and build a stronger future for our learners.
