The Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, together with its offices and centers, extends its sincerest gratitude to its outgoing Vice President, Atty. Wilmark J. Ramos, DBA, for his dedicated and inspiring service.
Through his visionary RIsE (Research, Innovation, and Sustainable Extension) Framework, Atty. Ramos provided purposeful leadership that strengthened the University's culture of research excellence, innovation, and meaningful community engagement. Seventeen (17) entries for the Arts, Business, Law, Education, and Social Sciences (ABLESS) category competed during the 6th Saliksiklaban on Monday (May 25) held at the Center for Food Technology and Research AVR, Lucinda campus.
Saliksiklaban is a university-wide undergraduate research competition that provides students with an avenue to develop social intellect, creative thinking, and innovation, and to foster a strong research culture in the university while inspiring them to conduct evidence-based research.
โResearch must never end in the archive; too many find studies in this country are bound [to a] shelf and never open again. In fact, part of the DALAN program is to utilize our research, community-based research," University President Dr. Jasper Jay Mendoza said in his speech.
The ABLESS category (day 1) was paneled by Dr. Kenneth Armas, Director of the Planning and Development Office at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), Dr. Joseph Richard Mejia, an author and full-time professor at PHINMA University of Pangasinan, and Dr. Danzen B. Olazo, Associate Professor II, Department of Management of Holy Angel University.
Organized by the Office of Innovation and Business Development, the 6th Saliksiklaban features thirty-seven (37) competing teams from ABLESS and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) categories.
The STEM category entries will be evaluated tomorrow, May 26, 2026.

Tarlac State University follows a strict merit-based admission policy. External interventions, personal appeals, or third-party endorsements will not be considered in the selection process.

The Office of Innovation and Business Development (OIBD) honored faculty members and colleges for their outstanding contributions to the universityโs Intellectual Property (IP) targets during the Tarlac State University Innovation Awards 2026, held on April 30 at the Alumni Center, Lucinda Campus.
The ceremony served as a formal recognition of high-impact research and innovation achievements recorded over a five-year period, spanning January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2025.
โThe awards we will confer today are particularly special. We are looking back at the past five years, a period defined by unprecedented global challenges. While the world slowed down due to the pandemic, your minds did not. You chose to innovate when it was most difficult, โAtty. Wilmark Ramos, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, said in his speech.
โThis ceremony is a testament to the fact that TSU is not merely for instruction, but a powerhouse for creativity and a hub for transformative students,โ Atty. Ramos further said.
